Nuttall is lost Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Is it just me or is it my perception that we seem to have let in way more last minute goals than we have scored? I can think of very few last minute goals for us. But we always seem to concede them. Even going back to 1994/95. We conceded a few last minute goals that season. The only last minute goal I remmeber was at Coventry and Old Trafford but it was disallowed. This and last season seems to be full of last minute conceded goals. Cant think of any for us off the top of my head. Quote

Ossydave Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Looking at the season to date we're actually the worst in the league for it. Saturdays opponents have the best record in the league as a comparison so may well be a nervy end.... 1 Quote
MarkBRFC Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 The last time we scored an injury time winner in front of fans was against Sheffield Wednesday in November 2019. Closest we have come since is against Swansea at Ewood back in February this year which was the 89th minute. Quote
BRFC4EVA Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 I feel like every team has a certain number of injury time goals assigned to them by the football Gods in a season. Unfortunately it often happens to be that ours are scored when we're already winning the game... Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Our tendency to concede goals late in the game, rather than scoring them, has been going on almost since the Chicken Chokers appeared on the scene. Quote

You wonder if we burn ourselves out. Quote

It was going on long before that but it was nowhere near as bad. We could also score in injury time before they showed up as well. Another issue that could easily be resolved by the club having the slightest shred of ambition. Quote
Nuttall is lost Posted December 14, 2023 Author Posted December 14, 2023 Going back to when I started supporting the club: 92/93: Goals conceded: Late goal away to Liverpool (Walters) 93/94: Last minute goal away to Man Utd (ince) 94/95: Newcastle away Leeds Away Liverpool Away Comparing that to Man Utd in that era (92-96) I literally can't think of any last minute goals conceded for them. 1 Quote

Yeah, when the guys on Sky Sports used to say “ There’s been a last minute goal at Ewood Park “. Or wherever we were playing that day . “ Which way has it gone ? “ I’d be pretty confident it would have been a Rovers goal. Now I’m pretty confident it won’t be. 1 Quote
Moptop1 Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 We used to concede a lot of 89th minute goals in the 80’s. Used to be frustrating even then… Quote
Nuttall is lost Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 Bump Not quite last minute but not far off. 2 goals in last 10 mins. I have never seen another club ship so many late goals. Quote

wilsdenrover Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 The contrast between 46-75 minutes and 76- 90 minutes is stark. Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Any opposing manager will be telling his players “ Don’t bother what the score is, keep plugging away and these will fold “. Starting at Huddersfield on Boxing Day. 2 Quote
