Tugay Et Labore Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 It feels like they’ve got an extra couple of players on the pitch right now. Having Hyam would’ve been ideal for this game plan. Quote

Seem to be playing a weird 4 5 1 when defending so far. Presume to limit space in gaps between defence and midfield but doesn't look natural so far No one up to to release on the break or hold it up to get out. 1 Quote
Bethnal Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 Southampton don’t have an effective press at all, none of their forward line seem to fancy it. 2 minutes ago, yankfan said: Just hope we’re not down 4 by then. Hill really struggling to keep up for pace on the right. Restricting space and concentration can keep Edozie quiet. There’s opportunity on the break and Southampton are already looking frustrated. simongarnerisgod Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 well at least we are conserving our energy, this is like a training ground recovery session!!!!!!!!!!! 2 Quote

booth Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 why didn't Brittain take a shot then? Just him and the goal and he passes it backwards. Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 I bet if a Rover felled a Saint in the D with a mistimed sliding tackle he'd get a yellow card... Quote
moerpho Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 We go close! Better now. Remind you of all those games where we were brilliantly on top for 15 mins with no goals? Quote

Exiled_Rover Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 Ah and Brittain gets a yellow for a slight shirt pull in their third of the field. Fuck the EFL. Quote

Home ground, “promotion contender” advantage. Like the watered-down Old Trafford rule. Rife among the refs with premier league experience, as Graham Scott has. Quote

Bethnal Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 Tronstad with a suicide back pass for Wahlstedt. Very close to giving a goal away to a team who don’t need the help. 1 Quote

It was the earlier chance I was talking about. He should have taken a shot instead of passing it back into the box. On the occasion you mention he should have passed to Sigurdsson. 1 Quote

Played it back into the middle for Tronstadt, who was on the edge of the D, with 3 Saints players around him. Madness. 2 Quote

Groundhog Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 How their lad didn't get booked for that foul on Wharton, on the edge of the D, about to shoot, he was late and it was cynical. it's insane. Refs are a joke. Moran gets booked for a shirt pull. Yes we're struggling, and under the cosh. Saints are bound to score, but we're fighting and I'm proud of our showing so far, considering the side we've got out. 3 Quote
