Rogerb Posted December 30, 2023 Author Posted December 30, 2023 11 minutes ago, JHRover said: What would be really funny is if every Rovers fan who hasn't yet bought a ticket simply turns up on the day at the away ticket office and buys a paper ticket to go in the Cambridge end, refusing to participate in the ludicrous and discriminatory 'digital only' scheme for home ends. This way those people could still have their paper ticket, still watch the game and Rovers would still get the same income, but it would send a message to the imbeciles upstairs and cause them quite the headache trying to cope with it on matchday. This. It assumes you can buy on the day. 1 Quote

Currently working through SO1 Just imagine if the Cambridge fans outnumbered Rovers fans on the day. That would be a real smack in the eye for Digital Day and the half wits who dreamt it up. But they might get some shiny environmental certificate from the EFL. 3 Quote

tomphil Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 The irony of saving paper in order to get a certificate to pin on the wall ! Netzero summed up. Quote
JHRover Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Or even better if they win such an award I presume the Club will take a delegation down to London to be presented with it at the annual awards night. No problems with the environmental impact of those journeys. Quote

Rogerb Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 Cambridge have six tickets left in SO1 .They have sold circa 1500. Which is likely more than us. Quote

Ben-2000 Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Cambridge now have a further batch of paper tickets on sale in S01. Quote
arbitro Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 (edited) I have had further dialogue with Fraser Read after something was sent to me which undermined all the statements and reasoning behind Digital Day. Below is an extract from the last email I had from him. I'm not entirely sure what their intentions are but I'm hoping against hope that they have at last listened and are offering a viable alternative to the nonsense they are currently offering. I understand your concerns, at the moment the below is as much as I can respond but my suggestion would be to keep an eye on our channels on Thursday for an update which may help. Rogerb Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 Hopefully the present sales are so awful it has forced their hand. 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Who could’ve foreseen that… certainly not the ‘Head of Consumer’. Quote
Ben-2000 Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 My guess is that they will want as many to buy digital as possible without announcing anything to the contrary until the latest possible moment. Fingers crossed common sense will prevail. In the meantime a few small batches of seats have been greyed out in parts of the JW, likely to be comps. Be interesting to know if they are digital or paper tickets as they are usually collected from the BBE reception. Quote
JHRover Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Too late now. The message is out and 2 weeks have passed by with the club stubbornly sticking to their daft idea. Even if they were to announce on Thursday that paper tickets are available it leaves all of 24 hours or so for the message to get out and people to change their minds and go. Quote

I would go, but some may have made other plans I agree. Obviously we're still guessing, but if they do realise they've messed up & hold their hands up then you can't really ask for much more than that. Quote

That many mess ups they never put their hands back down. Maybe stop making such ridiculous decisions to start with. 4 Quote

Wheelton Blue Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 (edited) By tomorrow, it will be too late to send paper tickets out through the post, so I reckon all they can offer is the ability to buy them in person at the office. Edited January 3, 2024 by Wheelton Blue Quote
