Alot around me stood up including ourselves, a few looking like they wanted to but we're a bit shy as they'd join in clapping the chants. I picked my kid up in jack walker upper n lifted her aloft lol

Interesting today.

Crowd right behind the players, but despite sitting fifth also a ‘stand up if you hate Venky’s’, first time I’ve heard that in, what, 7/8 years? And plenty stood up, even in the Jack Walker from what I could see.

Me and my lad stood up, as did many around us in the JW upper near the BBE🙂

Thought it was the perfect blend of support and songs against.  Heard a few Waggot chants too, need some Suhail Out chants though.

Football fans are fickle, just before the West Brom game it was full on anger at the club and sympathy for Eustace, win a couple of games and all that is forgotten and Eustace is a snake (handily using an excuse that he didn’t say when he heard about the Derby interest)

Waggott has the luck of the devil

And the look of the devil too.

We have a Venky stooge that sits in JW, the protests should be aimed it him in my opinion. Make his afternoons uncomfortable, give him something to think about.

This isn't specifically Venkys out, but a petition surrounding Readings ownership with a mention of poor ownerships generally

https://www.yuanforearleyandwoodley.org/rfc-petition

I signed it.

These Reading fans are doing a great job there and have the right attitude towards what's happening.

They show up our fanbase completely. The reaction, or complete lack of, from so called fans of this club is completely and utterly pathetic.

I would imagine that distance means that they are unembarrassable when it comes to Rovers. Too far away to be impacted. It's also difficult to embarrass them given there's less of an obvious ethical dimension that reaches past our fanbase to leverage.

Animal rights and environmental activist's have had good success by targeting businesses associated with the companies they are working with (whoever provides services for them eg insurance, vending machines, anything). Basically just being a pain in the neck and disrupting things. It's tough to do that in the name of a football club and getting outsiders to care, plus to find people passionate enough to risk criminal action being taken against them. Most legal methods (or still legal methods) are quite ineffectual in a case like this. The book Your Neighbour Kills Puppies is a very interesting look at how companies where isolated and forced to close down as running them became unprofitable despite government subsidies.Charged: How the Police Try to Suppress Protest is also very useful when it comes to seeing what is possible to do these days and what isn't.

The companies associated with them are unlikely to be shamed into not working with them purely because of a football club in another country. I imagine affecting their bottom line is the only way they will care so any way to impact that is something. Maybe specific games where people don't buy tickets. Any adverse attention seen by people who would buy their product (so in India) would also be something. Tough to embarrass them here when they don't pay attention so perhaps taking out adverts over there would be something.

What have you done? Other than post aggressive and unhelpful statements like that on here? Just out of interest.

Why doesn’t Tim Farron set up a petition like this? Could someone email or contact him on social media?

In no specific order:

  • Compiled a timeline of all the major goings on for both Rovers and Venkys going back to 2021. This was a lot of work and took some time to do. It was used to smash Waggot's lies and bullshit in a fans forum meeting on at least one occasion. A solid resource when talking about what's happening here if I do say so myself.
  • Helping with organising protest movements last season after the second January in a row where the club deliberately sabotaged transfers. This started off with a hiss and a roar until some absolute gobshyte cretin, who shall remain nameless, decided it would be a good idea to give Glen Mullan a load of shit for going to the meeting with Waggot and the players. It all fell apart and rather than being a unified movement it just became a bunch of loudmouthed dickheads spouting bollocks. Again, no names mentioned.
  • Boycotted the club since approx Jan 2011. It's debatable what effect this has had but I haven't wasted any time or money on a club that just takes the piss out of its supporters. As fans we have very little power in these situations, so I voted with my feet like thousands of others. At the very least it's meant venkys have to put in more money to fund the club. I haven't subsidised the destruction of Blackburn Rovers and I'm reasonably proud of that.

So, while we're on the subject, what have you done?

Why would anybody care what Tim Farron has to say about anything?

He’s an elected Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom 😆

Articulate, passionate Rovers fan with access to media. Anti -current regime. Good analysis of problems around unfit football ownership...That's a pretty good start.

Now compare that to the shite spouted by Jim White, football luvvies and ex Rovers players.

End of the day there’s a new manager and we are sitting in the play off places with 12 games to go, so nothing is going to get much traction at the moment.

It has to be the long game (which is fine as we are never too far from the next shambles).
