Popular Post DuffsLeftPeg Posted Friday at 09:49 Author Popular Post Posted Friday at 09:49 Just seen this story break on Sky Sports News Great work to all involved 👏 This really puts the club on the back foot and shows unity amongst the supporters. Superb! 18 Quote
JHRover Posted Friday at 09:54 Posted Friday at 09:54 I see that this has been broadcast on Sky Sports News already which is good. Of course you then get comments asking about what the problem is, which shows how out of the loop some people are, but hopefully it makes a few more aware of the problems. 4 Quote

rog of the rovers Posted Friday at 10:38 Posted Friday at 10:38 This is in no way an incendiary comment, just out of curiosity Do the groups have a response if they are all at Fratton Park tomorrow? What then? 1 Quote

I've said before on here but when people find out i'm a Rovers fan, the first question i generally get is "You're not still owned by that Venky's lot are you?" when the answer is "yes", they are surprised and thought they sold us years ago. The wider footballing community really doesn't give a toss about Rovers. 7 Quote

superniko Posted Friday at 10:45 Posted Friday at 10:45 Cracking work Glen and Co. I have to say the statement reads perfectly to me. Highlighting frustration at the charlatans incharge but not waivering on our desire to support the players and backroom staff 1 Quote

What then? Fans are the own regulators, and I'm sure they will react if they are there. However it's on them , We will not taking foot off the gas and welcome anyone who wants to get involved in steering group. Every supporter is unique and important and their choices, feelings and opinions must be respected 8 Quote

Agree, a disgrace that they aren't supporting this. Wasn't there some phrase they used a while back about keeping close to Waggot and co. Sickening really. I thought I read on here that they were in discussions with the club regarding setting the ST pricing for this upcoming season too - sort of shows how far off it they are 1 Quote
davulsukur Posted Friday at 10:50 Posted Friday at 10:50 I assume, @glen9mullan, you're not expecting any kind of response from the club on this statement? Quote
Mercer Posted Friday at 10:57 Posted Friday at 10:57 Well done Glen and co. Hopefully, this is just the start and it has a snowball effect escalating both publicity and pressure. Time for all to play their part 4 Quote
DuffsLeftPeg Posted Friday at 11:00 Author Posted Friday at 11:00 I feel that JoJo put it best in her song “Leave (Get Out)” from 2004: Get out (LEAVE) right now It's the end of you and Rovers It's too late (NOW), and I can't wait for you to be gone 'Cause I know about them (WHO?) And I wonder (VENKYS) How we bought all the lies You said that you would treat us right But you were just a waste of time (WASTE OF TIME) (some lyrics may have been changed to suit the song) 2 Quote

Popular Post glen9mullan Posted Friday at 11:09 Popular Post Posted Friday at 11:09 A lot if request coming in for the coalition for interviews. Talksport, 5live, radio lancs amongst them. Sky also made contact , we will have some new faces, new ideas taking these up. Interesting the wider football community in shock about Gestede's new role 14 Quote

Roverreturns Posted Friday at 11:22 Posted Friday at 11:22 Hello, daily visitor to this site for 20 plus years and one time regular poster. I think the statement has been cleverly worded and the current situation has prompted me to post a comment for the first time in probably 15 years. No one wants Rovers to return to the well run, successful club it is more than I, and a positive, unifying approach which relies on a calm logical statement rather than personal, vitriolic attacks is absolutely the correct approach and will gain the right kind of attention. We dont know what the response is but this will clearly dictate the next steps so let's wait and see. However for me there is one missing piece of the jigsaw which may add weight here, and again, only in a positive sense. In tandem with this approach I think it would be significant, and logical for those who have committed to stay away from the club until Venkys are gone to return for the final few games, boost the crowd and support an unlikely play off push. Of course this would only be on the basis that the request of the statement is met and that the board stay away but for me this gives the Not a Penny More Crowd a great opportunity to back the club and not the ownership as they vociferously claim to do. Forget the limited value to the owners of the cost of your ticket purchase, it would be a drop in the ocean, IF the board agree to stay away, make a point, vote with your feet, help put an end to the shame of our poor attendances and get behind the team. Prove that staying away isnt just about apathy and that you really bleed blue and white, not just on a forum. It would be great to see this campaign formally adopt this idea. Imagine what weight would be added if the home attendances were boosted by the many thousands that it appears are staying away for only one reason. 3 Quote
