The timing to release at 9am today was for these reasons.

1. We have to legally notify the club if a press release is imminent if we name individuals.

2. With international break just ended, we knew it be slow news day bar press conferences today, so for this to go National (we are championship so less air time) it was perfect slot

3. We knew club had a big PR campaign on route about backing the team, whilst Gestede has interviews lined up Tuesday. We also knew the manager had his presser today and it would scew the script they intended to brief him on.

4. We knew by giving them the heads up yesteday they'd be fumbling a reaction to a potential protest. They'd called a senior leadership meeting to head this off, unbeknown to them our unity message both screwed their PR campaign and every response they thought they had covered.

5. We expected them to refuse the request to not attend, whereas in essence they now become the protest organisers.

6. We expected this stance giving us a whole week to plan for next Fridays game, a phase 2.

7. The story which has run today has played out 100% as we expected, which now makes us stronger because we have their measure.

We had to take a risk, i think even our own supporters were expecting a protest to be called and a rant at venkys. We measured the risk of by pushing for pre 10am traction. We'd already primed the media and done some market intelligence to see how it would land with the media.

Experience has certainly paid off here, understanding what we did previously, what worked , what didn't, but also being cute. It was always going to end supporters 1 v 0 board, today. However their statement has probably just made it 2-0, as they are clearly on the ropes, before we've even turned up the heat.

This is our first coalition action but we are already moving with the next. This one's history.

I’ve just been on there, fuck me, they are thicker than the dingles:

Agree. Nonsensical waffle from BRFC action group. Like it or not, Steve Waggott is the glue that holds this club together”.

They are a different breed on there.

Have been reading fan reaction and comments on various platforms and seems everyone is united behind this apart from that deluded bunch of LET commenters..  one chap is still banging on about Mowbray in the comments over there . Crazy.

well done supporters groups - hopefully the exec ewood team are feeling the heat now the spotlight is on them. Be interesting to see how it plays out with them in attendance for todays game…

.

As I see it & why they must me held accountable:

Suhail Pasha-Kentaro and former associate of Anderson’s and very much a prominent figure from day 1 of takeover.

Gestede- no one would employ as under qualified yet suddenly he appeared at Rovers in a high profile role. Worked with Kean (Kentaro) at Melbourne

waggot-IMO is further down the list than the above two

 Venkys-front for above

**promotion is not wanted by above and the questions and scrutiny it would raise.

rotten to the core

If ever there was a side to guarantee not making the playoffs

Through that pathetic statement, dreadful managerial appointment and another total no show today, the club have literally just reloaded the gun for the fans.

Literally handing it to Glen and Co. on a plate.

At what point do we consider setting up an offshoot club, ala FC United?

Unless these current ideas (which are ace, btw) force something to happen, it looks like Venky's are stubbornly in this forever.
Which means the likes of Suhail, Waggott and Gestede will be leeching from the club forever as well.

We'll have to consider something completely left field.

Fella behind me at the game today starting singing "we want Venkys out". Guy next to me turns around and says, "it's not the Venkys we want out it's this manager. Who would fund the club?"

Utterly baffling. Fair play to the fella behind me. Agreed to disagree about the owners and said he was in agreement about the manager, rather than berating him. I just don't understand some people. Proper Stockholm Syndrome.

A fella fully deserving of the Venky’s.

A crying shame for the rest of us.

From a protest and general fan unrest perspective, poor results are indeed crucial fuel to the fire. We've seen in the past it only takes one or two decent results for the majority to settle down - especially if we still mathematically have something to play for. A win today would have kept us within 2 points of the playoffs, and you just know the majority opinion would have swung to "we still have a chance here, protests = negativity, get behind the lads ffs". Seen it time and time again since Venky's arrived (despite getting behind the lads (ffs) never actually achieving anything, whether it comes to playoffs or escaping relegation).

The only way to continue negative sentiment against the owners and the hierarchy is for results to continue going south.

To be fair, from what I see, the players and manager agree with this!

As sickening as results and performances have been, it'll be a huge shot in the arm to the protest group.

Friday’s an opportunity to really do something special against the lot upstairs. If a game were to be abandoned, it’d cost Sky money.

A big shout to Glenn for finding bout of energy too, to lead something against the owners.

Might be stupid but is there no way of getting a huge screen outside with the rovers game on as close to ewood park as possible, everyone protesting outside the ground while watching it.

Not sure you'd get away with broadcasting the game on a big screen in a public place, but I dunno the rules specifically.

i think you`de be dispersed pretty quickly by the old bill, ewood park is near a main road and has houses on it`s doorstep, the protest is`nt going to last long that way

Hopefully whatever happens it'll be better than the pathetic tennis ball effort

The most important thing is for everyone to participate.

The tennis balls effort was only so pathetic because of the small amount of people who were actually willing to take part.

If more of the fans actually got involved then it would have been very impactful.

It still stopped the game and got the focus on the owners for a bit.

It achieved far more than sitting there doing fuck all and getting behind the ladz ffs ever has or ever will.

If I was without family commitments ( no way she’d let me) I would head over to Pune for the cricket when England play and take a few banners with the hope i could embarrass them in their own backyard. Maybe someone knows how to get an advertisement put up on one of the billboards around the city of Pune, we could all chuck in a few rupees towards the cost. Doubt they would print what many of us would like to appear on it though.

Part of the problem is a lot who still go ewood aren’t interested and won’t get involved, stay aways need to get involved somehow. I could launch a tennis ball over the riverside no problem 😂
