Mattyblue Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Just tuned in to hear ‘TK’ saying Waggott’s doing a great job, nobody would ever buy us, and we can’t afford to buy players, if we do we’ll go bust… and he wasn’t called out on a single opinion, all very strange. 4 Quote

... Posted April 1 Posted April 1 The love of a club has to flow through everyone's vains in order for success to feel like success. Rovers til I die. 💙 1 Quote
Scotty1991 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Glen superb effort! That 30 minutes was an absolute PR disaster. They are fucked but so are we, they’re steering us off the 65! 1 Quote
Popular Post davulsukur Posted April 1 Popular Post Posted April 1 (edited) Really great interview from Suhail, Waggott and Gestede. Guys, seriously, I applaud the effort 👏, you surpassed all my expectations. I wasn't expecting to be fuming until a good 10mins in, but there I was, livid after just 45 seconds. Well played 🫡 What the hell was Waggott thinking having a pop at the fans in the opening fucking line of the interview?? Obviously, plenty of bullshit throughout. My notes: Did Suhail finally admit that the club lied about the court case? He mentioned a point where the owners could not send any money at all. This was not what Waggott told us when the court case came to light. The fabled £20m has been nudged up to £22m Gestede passing off pure incompetence as an exciting time as 12 players set to leave, with more to follow the next summer and no new contracts for key players. Following that point, a further excuse trotted out that we don't know what league we'll be in, when clearly we do know. Ismael having a strong input into the "shaping" of the squad, more likely to see off the remaining higher earners, under the guise of getting in "the right" players. Suhail clearly not happy about season tickets and possibly a sly move on their part to target the next generations, a sensible plan at most clubs but here it's probably to get a new generation in, that have only known Venkys Rovers and nothing more. The excuses given for Eustace's departure were truly pathetic. This charm offensive seems to have done more harm than good, looking at the YouTube comments. It's all guff and noise as we know it won't be backed up by any meaningful action. Edited April 1 by davulsukur 20 Quote
Popular Post Atko's Engine Posted April 1 Popular Post Posted April 1 I've not been that active on here of late due to other stuff going on that took my focus sway from all things Rovers so i'm playing a bit of catch up. I must say, hats off to Glen & Co for efforts made these last few weeks to try to start to fashion a cure or this rot that has set in over the last 14 years. I don't have the bandwidth in my life atm to get too involved, but I am trying to get word about to the (relatively small!) people in my social circle who are interested that enough is enough! I'm quite a reserved person in general. I don't go in for public spats & vocal protests / marches / direct action as I feel they can be confrontational, divisive & often self-harming to the cause being supported. But this one feels different; it feels more structured, focused & strategised & aims (and so far is succeeding) to emphasise the sheer frustration of being a Rovers fan right now, and the futility of being a fan generally when we're powerless to affect things in terms of the overall welfare of the club as a community institution. The timing, it being 150 years since formation & 30 years since being Champions of England (and all the media spotlight that alonee has got this week), is perfect. Sadly, regardless of our history, as a club we're an irrelevance now to probably 50% of active football fans in this country, including probably 90% of U18s. "Blackburn Rovers? What, they won the Premier League? But they're crap!" I'm really in a quandary about all of this though, & I imagine my situation mirrors that of many. I'm a 40yr season ticket holder, have been going that long with my dad & brother. I live an hour from Ewood, so me going there with them is routine / part of my DNA, a family tradition. It's my club, our club, and watching it splinter & wither away at the hands of dome uninterested billionaires thousands of miles away is gut wrenching. That interview just proves to me, if ever evidence were needed, that there are no fit & proper custodians of the club anywhere within its corridors of power. I can't just give it up though, boycott, as I worry that if I do for any period of time I'll become one of those who finds something else to do instead. There's hope, finally, that things could change & this proves to be the time that life is breathed back into our zombie club. Roll on Friday, it'll be a passionate one for sure. 11 Quote
Popular Post Proudtobeblue&white Posted April 1 Popular Post Posted April 1 Shysters, grifters, liars, begging a living. It's tragic, but more than that when it's our club. Not an ounce of compassion, regret, apology. Fuck all three of them, and fuck off out of our wonderful 150 year old club. 14 Quote

Popular Post den Posted April 1 Popular Post Posted April 1 When Venkys took over they had John Williams and Tom Finn running the club. A premier league club at that. Those three stooges and Championship football is where they’ve taken us to - and they’ve paid an absolute fortune to get us there. Football geniuses. 10 Quote

At least Bumble and the lad in Beirut then came on to truly reflect the feeling of the wider fan base, enough is enough. Quote
