Popular Post Wheelton Blue Posted April 5 Popular Post Posted April 5 There's still plenty of Venky apologists out there. I put one in his place last night when I could bear his 'Who else would put in 20 million a year?' guff no longer 18 Quote

Mattyblue Posted April 5 Posted April 5 The obvious comparison is the Blackpool NAPM against the Oystons. Crowds completely collapsed down to a few hundred and as local businessmen owners the jig was up as revenue collapsed along with it. Here, crowds drop down to just Swag-hail themselves and Chadster, so 31,365 empty seats, would they give a fuck? Or would they just shut the academy, flog Brockhall and operate it as a shell L2 club? Crowds will collapse here too regardless next season, but I still don’t see it pushing them out the door. It’s a completely unique situation as these people just don’t operate by the usual laws of football ownership. Quote

Half of us didn't stand up "if we hate venkys" which again was frustrating. A few than usual though might I add saw @glen9mullanup there but you were further over than me mate Went back in Blackburn end second half, 1 Quote
Gamst Posted April 5 Posted April 5 NAPM seems like the obvious next step, such is rot that has set in. ‘No nay never’ is the obvious tagline. 2 Quote

If the same happended here, I reckon we'd go down to 6 or 7. Particularly the older generation will attend no matter what. A chap who sits behind said to me last night 'I've been going since since 1959. It's a bit late to stop now'. Edited April 5 by Wheelton Blue Quote

Paul Mellelieu Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Can anyone point me to the "legacy fan" quote. Thanks. Quote
John Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) Post match the sky pundits talked mostly on Boro - when they did discuss Rovers, they were quite punchy on potentially VI being sacked (even at this stage) and also questioning Gestede “younger players” focus on his interviews. It’s positive that the running of the club is being discussed publicly again as most normal football people will ask what is going on, and question the decision making. The crap being spouted by our “exec team” needs to stop. No one with any aspirations would hire our current head of football operations or current manager. The piss taking needs to stop and we (the fans) are the ones suffering. Edited April 5 by John 2 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Remember though it's only a tiny minority who are making a bit of noise. The lengths that these people will go to in order to protect their cosy little gravy train knows no bounds, just imagine what they tell the owners. Only reason they are rattled and panicking is because they are terrified of that coming to an end and very little to do with another season completely imploding and the shambles on the pitch. 3 Quote

Developing youth is a noble cause, but for next season do we actually have any younger players who are likely to break through? Surely this is a key question for Rudy! 1 Quote
markhayhurst Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) Serious question re: campaign can Venkys sell? and is the club theirs to sell? based upon previous investigations it might not be as easy as calling for Venkys to put club up for sale. *serious question Edited April 5 by markhayhurst 7 Quote
Popular Post Neal Posted April 5 Popular Post Posted April 5 2 hours ago, The1mattjansen said: What's going on at Ewood is clearly as disaster, and the current ownership make it almost untenable to continue to support the club. But what is the perceived end goal of the campaigns to get rid of them? Rovers are losing £20m/year consistently. The wage bill is 120% of turnover per most recent accounts. And Venky's are owed £140m from the club. So at a bare minimum, there'd need to be someone out there willing to give Venky's at least the value of the clubs assets in returning for taking ownership of a business that's going to lose them £20m/year (else Venky's would be better off liquidating it). Does such a person exist? And then the reality is that the Venky's are unlikely to simply walk-away from their* £140m. So it's going to cost a good bit more than the asset value of the club. I struggle to see a way out of this. I see it purely and simply this way now because its gotten to this point... Whatever the finances are... However bad the results are... If they get relegated... IT'S ALL ON THEM. Not me. I'm not paying them admission to watch them destroy the club and it's not as if it even resembles the club I supported in the first place, which makes it easier. There is hardly anything left to support but one thing... And people need to be careful with being played by this because Gestede has already mentioned it... The club are going to use the academy lads as a shield and as a tool to tug at the supporters heart strings to give them a reason to support the team, whilst ultimately the giving them a reason to not further invest and cut costs. Don't fall for it. Don't be played AGAIN by Waggot. NOT A PENNY MORE FOLKS. 10 Quote
