How many businesses have you been involved with where the seller appears to be happy to lose £20m a year, running on for over £200m in debt, and makes no effort to improve the situation or engage with buyers?

This is not a normal situation. If it was we'd have been sold a decade ago.

None.

I have no idea why they still own us. However, especially now, surely if someone was serious about buying us, a low ball offer would do the trick. However, there is nothing out there, at the minute.

Why isn’t there any public offers, surely with the current fan pressure, you’d go public to say, we’ve made an approach and the fans would then jump on the back of you to try and get them to listen.

That first sentence is the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard on this forum. And that’s going some.

It’s happened in our very own town, the Euro Garages brothers, attempted to buy McColls, Cafe Nero, made their offer on Asda, all went public. However, businesses don’t have pressure from “fans”, our club does.

It makes absolute sense to do so.

There has been three approaches (credible ones) and two maybe not so. However none since 2017.

I do hope that would be the case. I’d love nothing more than a packed Ewood. However, in the PL, we averaged around 20-24k. I simply do not see that happening, especially given the current global issues with rising prices either. That is my honest opinion.

Even so, our current average attendance is 16k I believe, adding an additional 8k fans at an average season ticket cost of £300, brings in £2.4m. Let’s say an additional £2.4m on spends at Ewood (just made that figure up), then it’s an additional £5m, at best. Where’s the shortfall of £15m-£20m coming from?

I doubt the actual average attendance is 16k, a lot of season ticket holders are not attending.

OK, so once again, how do other clubs do it?

Because outside of Sunderland and Leeds the average home attendance is 28k or less, with only Derby, Sheff Utd and Coventry getting near those figures. At least half the championship have an average attendance of 20k or less.

He has now admitted to the meeting. My question still stands, as to why it was kept a secret, when we the fans have been crying out engagement.

I am not pro-regime nor anti-regime. I am a fan of the club and have been all my life. I hate seeing Ewood the way it was last night. It wasn’t nice for me and my family attending, it can’t have been nice for the players or anyone involved.

I want the best for us, be that with Venky’s or Joe Bloggs, I really do not care. Football is an escape for many of us and at the moment, it is nothing but a chore.

What irks me is, this hostile atmosphere created, mainly due to lack of communication, yet certain individuals have the ear of the execs, but choose to keep it private, when it suits.

I have read Glen’s tweets for a number of years and respect a lot of the work he has done. However, when we find out of these private meetings, it will antagonise any fan, especially, when we have all been wanting that very voice to communicate with us.

Your question was answered. It was to do with comments made by Waggott in his club interview. Not recent actions.

If you want engagement with the club, the only route that’s currently viable is by agitating. The Trust has been a “critical friend” and received nothing but occasional head pats and “jam tomorrow” excuses. Glen had a meeting and Waggott prioritised that meeting. It’s not incumbent upon someone to itemise their life to you because you want to know everything that’s going on, but can’t seem to decide whether the owners or are a good thing or not.

Your right to attend Rovers games is being eroded by the very people you’re sitting on the fence about. It won’t feel like it right now, but in the current direction of travel under the owners and the people they appoint to run the club in their absence, the club’s likelihood of surviving diminishes.

I’m of the view that match-going fans have a right to express their dismay. Consensus is building that this situation is untenable and the dismay is justified. You may disagree. See how far you get with that.

If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll see that you want your cake and to eat it. You want the best for the club and to watch a game in peace (which every fan does) but don’t want to confront the reality that the best thing for the club and to watch a game in peace is to get rid of these owners. If the action required to initiate that upsets you, that’s unfortunate, but it doesn’t make it any less necessary.

I’ve just gone off the stats available online which I saw the other day, which stated this season’s average was 16,354. Our highest since our last season in the PL.

Hang on despite a decade of farce we have an average crowd of 16,354, but we couldn’t possibly add 3,700 to that under a driven and engaged new ownership?

You are talking some right confused twaddle.

I’ve just posted where I got the figure from. No reason to doubt it. Unless someone else can do the math.

Oh and I'm going Abu Dhabi Monday on a family holiday, NOT paid for by the club before that becomes the latest story to de-rail the supporters efforts to save this club.

Wife just gone town to buy new suitcase

Whilst one of my daughters gone to Preston to see her boyfriend.

So I've just watched grand national with 2 of my other daughters at home on TV

I’m not doubting it, BnWR, I’m doubting you when you said new owners couldn’t possibly see us hit 20k - it’s only 3,700 from where we are now.

We very much possibly could, just like we very possibly could have new owners.

Step away from the board, you are contradicting yourself post to post.

Sorry, the 20-24k I was alluding to was home fans only. The 16k I just posted, will take into account away fans. Again, no idea what the average, home fans only, figure would be.

The coalition know i spoke to Waggott , they also know the reason why

We've advised him that we are taking legal action over his comments linking video, statement and threats in his interview as if that were sent from the same person.

We discussed the transcript , he also advised he would pass onto his legal team.

Anything else you'd like to know 😏

which interview is this with? BBC Lancs or Rovers TV one? I haven't watched either yet

I'll be honest, this little spat appears to be quite personal to you. Your position is clear. You don't like fans questioning the status quo and you have a real problem with fans who actually stand up for the club at their own expense (time, money and mental). Glen Mullan (who I've never met but seems a reasonable, passionate bloke who does all he can for Rovers) can do as he likes and certainly doesn't have to justify his actions to me or you.

Nothing personal against Glen. Never met the bloke but do follow him. As I mentioned in my previous post, I respect a lot of the work he has done. However, when he is involved with the fan base and has such a following on Twitter, he ought to publish when he is meeting the CEO, when the fans have been crying out for communication.

Oh it’s 20k to 24k of home fans now 🙄

We didn’t get close to 24k home fans for most of the PL days, despite that status and being a happy club and fanbase, why the bloody hell would we now under a new owner in this league? Nobody expects that.

No idea what your point is? Neither do you by the sounds of it (apart from besmirching Glen).

Stats aren't always true. Tickets sold maybe, people actually there, no way.

Nice to see Mullan now confirm his meeting with Waggott to the fans. Bizarre it wasn’t at the time. Lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.

As per earlier, you need to go and read up on law unless you've deep pockets?

Alias can be shared by site owners if libel defamation is committed.

I always post everywhere under my own name on all social media as

1. That's my name .

2. I can have my opinion

3. This does restrict me somewhat, so if I state something as a fact you can bet your bottom dollar I have the substation to back it up.

I'd suggest you learn to do the same.
