Backroom Mike E Posted April 5 Backroom Posted April 5 41 minutes ago, Blue n White Rover said: He has now admitted to the meeting. My question still stands, as to why it was kept a secret, when we the fans have been crying out engagement. I am not pro-regime nor anti-regime. I am a fan of the club and have been all my life. I hate seeing Ewood the way it was last night. It wasn’t nice for me and my family attending, it can’t have been nice for the players or anyone involved. I want the best for us, be that with Venky’s or Joe Bloggs, I really do not care. Football is an escape for many of us and at the moment, it is nothing but a chore. What irks me is, this hostile atmosphere created, mainly due to lack of communication, yet certain individuals have the ear of the execs, but choose to keep it private, when it suits. I have read Glen’s tweets for a number of years and respect a lot of the work he has done. However, when we find out of these private meetings, it will antagonise any fan, especially, when we have all been wanting that very voice to communicate with us. Where was it ‘kept a secret’? Quote

Lost a lot of credibility in my eyes. You suggested in an earlier post that, in your opinion, it looked like two people were working together to create division and referenced a meeting that only you seem to have a problem with. Two people conspiring against poor Suhail and the owners? Is that what the thought is? Glen explained to you what the meeting was about and why he couldn't openly mention it on here and elsewhere. Yet despite this explanation, he has still "lost credibility" according to you. How does that make sense? You say you're not either pro or anti regime. Fair enough if that's how you feel. However, repeating some of the things that the stooges said in the interviews and making out that Glen has lost credibility for no real reason, makes you appear as being pro regime, even if that is not your intention or stance. 9 Quote

Agree here, I didn't like it myself and my nephew asked where they were so many policeman around and we said just doing their job. I loved going to watched my team play and I won't be forced away from that. Given what I have been through personal over the last 3 years and especially the last year with my missus illness, going to Rovers is my only pleasure in life then going home and given a match report and who played well and not to her is a joy and she loves seeing my happy when we win and the fact its what myself, bro and nephew go together, I wont stop attending games, I know some people won't agree or understand but as I said in the season ticket thread, everyone should respect each other personal decision what ever that is. Respect is needed here not falling out between us all. 33 minutes ago, Blue n White Rover said: What irks me is, this hostile atmosphere created, mainly due to lack of communication, Rovers management communication has been poor for years and if they were more open and honest it would also help but so would engaging more with the supporters. 25 minutes ago, Blue n White Rover said: Surely the buyer would then make it public? Popular Post Paul Mellelieu Posted April 5 Popular Post Posted April 5 Two separate issue: has Glen acted in bad faith and can Rovers survive without Venkys? On the former, I think Glen does not need to disclose meetings of the sort described above, and even if he was wrong in this case, he has a track-record of doing the right thing in regard to the club. On the latter, it is a charge that cannot just be swept aside, and I have been at pains to advise fans that administration is not a good thing for the club. However, in just the last 15 months, the club has lost two excellent managers, both without explanation. The approach of the troika this week has been insulting and divisive. So I'm willing to take the risk of things going tits up. 10 Quote

I simply cannot see any investor pumping in £25m a season to keep us afloat, unless it’s a fan, like Uncle Jack. I stayed away as it was pointless arguing with people on here despite me knowing a few things through my personal contacts. When I found out about this personal meeting between Waggott and Mullan, it did infuriate me because we have all been wanting communication with them directly, yet he had the platform and mentioned nothing to the public, until now when he’s been found out. It's actually been pointed out it averages out at nearer 15 million a season. In terms of transfer money spent and received it's probably not far off balancing out, so this theory that they've 'invested' 20 million every season is just that... a theory. 5 Quote

Despite foreign owners falling over themselves to buy English clubs. Aye, not remotely possible, so lets hope Venky’s stay for another fifteen years, we’d be Bury otherwise. We might 'do a Derby' Not sure that sounds too bad these days. 2 Quote

As for bigger fan bases - we seemed to do ok 15 years ago. It's incredible what 15 years of owners strangling the life out of a club will do to attendances. not quite, Oxford, Portsmouth, Plymouth and Derby will be the bottom 4 But Rovers probably in the bottom 6 or 7 Edited April 5 by KentExile Quote
Popular Post glen9mullan Posted April 5 Popular Post Posted April 5 My final post probably until I'm back , whilst we are discussing legals. The club have appointed forum and Internet spotters looking for absolutely anything they can use as a road for legal action. I've been notified "they've put a bullseye on you and despite it being badged a coalition the club's focus is taking me out". As you can see it's a difficult personal position to be in. I need to be squeaky clean in all I do , I need to be careful on what i post, what i say and in truth my personal movements. This ain't landed well with the Raos , livid probably an understatement. We are very close here at toppling the king. I'm more than happy to step away and it's never my intention to mislead or doup supporters. I care deeply about this club, and my love for it keeps me wide open for anything that can be thrown. I've got good support within the coalition as more groups join with the Norwegian supporters group being the latest one to join up. We've also had some amazing support from some supporters including many on here, some of which are in the steering group. We are possibly just 4 groups away from a full suite 57 Quote

The 2011 accounts to the 2024 accounts show a combined profit on intangible asset trading of £13.2 million. This doesn’t show the whole picture as: 2011-2014 = intangible asset trading loss of £28.5 million 2015-2024 = intangible assets trading profit of £41. 7 million These figures include the summer 2010 window which obviously predates Venkys ownership. 2 Quote

Just imagine if you were an agent/agency who came in and said 'you buy the club, agree to keep the lights on and get the advertising and door opening from it. Whilst we in turn will run it and deal with all player/director/coaching staff and manager trading then take our commission etc on that as our fees. Things would be looking quite rosy for the middlemen by now after nearly 15 years. 6 Quote
