It's a coalition of supporter groups, some of which are also legal entities and charities . Members have not been balloted or an stance seaked I'm very clear what can and can't be done by the trust the as former secretary, whilst aiding their inception. Standing side by side with supporter groups is not against the mandate. The club have reached out and are desperate to get sat down with the coalition , whilst cancelling their meetings with the trust. Right now the clubs focus is the power in numbers which has lit the issues up in lights. Expand To add, we've declined meetings to date 1 Quote

It’s an about turn from the critical friend stance, so would likely require a mandate from their membership. 2. The Trust has lots of ties to the Football Governance Bill (Tracey Crouch even used some prose directly lifted from submissions by Trust members), and it would be professionally difficult to simultaneously be in prime position to form a shadow board AND adversarial towards the club regardless of anyone’s personal feelings. 3. There are rules and regulations that govern what WATR is actually allowed to do (and crucially HOW to do it) due to their specific status as a company/charity (I’m not knowledgeable enough on the specifics). Other groups do not have the above to contend with and are essentially fan groups. If there were one group I would understand not explicitly breaking with the club JUST NOW (I’m certain there are straws that would shatter this camels multiple herniated discs), it is WATR. I would hazard a guess that their AGM (can’t be far off now? June ish?) will be something for people to look out for if there is any stance change. Expand The idea that gets trotted out about a mandate from the membership is an insult as I, as a paying member of the organisation, have never once been canvassed for my opinion. Perhaps they should ask the membership for their opinion before coming out with this bullshit. They can lend support to the coalition of other groups without having to be front and centre. At the moment they are just staying silent and (from what is visible) doing nothing. It's pretty obvious that there are limitations to what they can and can't do, although again none of this is communicated to the membership. The trust have done more than enough in the way of trying to work with the club over the years and have been shown time and time again that these people cannot be reasoned with. Surely a large part of whatever football regulations that are being negotiated should be revolving around the fans having a say in how their clubs are run. WATR showing solidarity with a coalition of other fan groups is them exercising this right. I'm in no way bashing the trust here, they've done some absolutely crucial and valuable work but their reluctance to get involved in any way with this is unacceptable. 12 Quote
