Gestede talking about how we won't have a budget of 15-20 million, and we won't reinvest all the money from player sales. No surprises there.

Pathetic as usual to say "we aren't that club anymore". Why? We have FFP leeway and they can afford it if they want to? This is exactly why the fans are so angry at them, they just can't be bothered to fund the club properly, in player trading, maintenance, anything.

Why is he coming out with that crap anyway ?

We haven't spent big money on a first team ready player since the signing of Rhodes 13 years ago so nobody remotely expects that.

Clown.

Because it gives him a wall to hide behind. It gives him an excuse for failure.

He's been sent out to act as a distraction from the focus on the owners and their shade dwelling lap dog

Yep. Focus your attentions on Gestede, Ismael, players, recruitment, budgets, transfer targets, changes in the academy

Don't focus your attentions on Venkys, curtain twitcher or Waggott

‘We aren’t that club anymore’

Translation - our billionaire owners have decided that we aren’t that club anymore.

Fair enough, put the club up for sale and fuck off then.

Exactly, this is a decision they are choosing to make, and it makes them unfit to be owners of a football club.

End of story.

Just another variation of Mowbray's "it isn't 1995 anymore". A way to make the club look like they are sensibly fighting against unchecked fan entitlement. The idea that anyone is expecting Venky's to invest at JW levels is of course absolute nonsense, but spin that narrative long enough and eventually the sizable uneducated portion of the media and the majority of the non-Rovers footballing community will accept it as a truth.

Pasha also needs to be held to account for his claims about going to India and asking Venkys for 20 million to keep the club afloat and then begging for transfer fees on top of that.

The basic duty and expectation of the owner is to cover running costs every season, no questions. If you have to ask them then they are not fit to own, end of story. It's not a charity or good ownership to pay that money, its the job.

Good ownership is covering those costs and investing more money into the players, coaches, youth system, facilities etc.

Good ownership is having a plan for short, medium and long term, employing the correct people in key roles and communicating that plan to your supporters, good commercial plan and Good ST plan that engage with supporters, understands Supporters financial situation and bring through the next generation of supporter
