Suhail also said in that interview of moving away from the benefactor model. This has been implemented over the last two years. What happens when the transfer money runs out makes this unsustainable.

The 1970’s called & want their Rovers back…

Sadly, I think the last 4 results will have taken the heat off our 3 stooges, at least for the foreseeable unless  Glen and co have something up their sleeves.

If Ismael does have a three month break clause in his contract, think it's almost certain it will not now be actioned.

So what next?  Record low season ticket sales in the last 30+ years, messrs Brittain, Travis and Tronstad refusing to be 'tied down' and being sold off, Gestede succeeding Waggott as CEO as he retires to Kent with his riches and Chaddy eulogising all is well with Rovers and continually dreaming of his 'pacey wingers'!?

Think the summer will be very eventful but sadly it wont be exciting!

They'll be hoping the heats off, quite the opposite.

Results do impact certain opinion polls, but this has never been about results.

Providing our focus remains on the greater picture and we remain unpredictable traction will continue all the way until an acceptable conclusion is reached.

Believe me behind closed doors they ain't got the party poppers out , bar the odd one through naivety

Excellent to hear!

Good luck with it all.  Hope 'the coalition' gets the support it both needs and deserves.

Big S likes the old Wonga💷, just hope he hasn't took a bag of gold allowing Rudy and clowns to look good.

Yes....we simply lower the 'base costs' i.e. League 1 Football.

I detect a shift in policy back towards the 'academy model' that JDT was employed to oversee and which Eustace ditched.

Unfortunately for them despite running with the academy model and JDT doing a good job with it by handing first team action to numerous academy lads whilst sustaining a competitive side, he was too good and had us in promotion contention. Added to that he was hungry and ambitious, and wanted promotion. A bad mix for this lot, so he had to go.

They made quite a mess even of JDT walking out, and by the end of that process had set us on a path for relegation to League One. Eustace was all about fighting fires for the first few months and ensuring survival was achieved.

Eustace has shown in his jobs that he wants tried and tested experience to call upon. Weimann, Batth, McFadzean and a distinct lack of academy players getting debuts during his time. This lot want some quick cash from academy lads coming through like Adam Wharton. Eustace was never going to play that game. Again too ambitious and wanted results first and foremost.

Lo and behold now Ismael has turned up it is back to the previous approach, in a few short weeks we are seeing Tyjon and Montgomery in the thick of things. Such a move will earn him credit and time with the regime as they greedily eye another project and sale or two to improve their figures and get their bonuses.

I wonder what congratulations and rewards the stooges got from India after the Wharton sale went through. I bet they sat around congratulating themselves late at night as they worked out what perks they would get in return as a thanks from India. Now they want more.

While all this is going on remember that results on the pitch, developing, getting anywhere as a club - all totally and utterly irrelevant yet they expect you to pay for more of it.

I wouldn't even say it was a shift of approach between JDT and Eustace - there simply weren't any First Team level Academy graduates coming through last year.

You could argue MAYBE Duru (albeit he's now injured) could have been involved more, but that's a stretch. Batty has fallen below expectations (and they've just signed Ribeiro so clearly they don't plan for him to be around the squad next year either). Then you're looking at 16/17 year olds.

Nobody in the older age groups has gone away on loan and set the world on fire and obviously Phillips and Finneran (the next two cabs off the rank) were stolen for peanuts from the crib.

Carter, S. Wharton, Travis et al took years to develop - they weren't ready in their teens. A. Wharton was an anomoly.

Which again points to it being done on purpose and the court case is nothing more than a convenient distraction providing the perfect excuse.

These people are billionaires regardless of the court case relating to one of their companies big Barry could chuck in a few million any time he felt like it but they never do that because it's all ultimately run through the VH group accounts, or as some would say their massive borrowings.

He could set up a separate business to run Rovers and even temporarily transfer ownership whilst the alleged restrictions are in place if he chose to but again it would need personal finance instead of bleeding the main company.

If you listen to a few old Mowbray interviews he knew the downscale was coming a year or two before it did the hints are all there.

They've permanently pulled the drawbridge up and there is only one way the club is going over the next few years unless they drop it again or sell to appropriate buyers. By then Swaghail and co will be long gone having bled the carcass dry but for now keeping the club purposely hovering around midtable being primarily a selling club trying to breed its own players good enough to play a season or two and punt on, even at youth level, is a handy niche for them and their agent pals.

The owners ? They just aren't bothered as long as their logo flashes on all these televised games and the phone only rings when it has to.

Rudy Gestede is appearing on Sam Allardyce's podcast this week, no doubt to go all out on the charm offensive for these arseholes who own and run our club.

Indeed. But shows their total lack of understaning not to mention will.
There are various ways to approach that though, no?

But essentially:-

Rao’s way = spend nothing, club has to be totally self-financing = very hard to sustain if there is no family silver to sell off (unless we start talking fixed assets….)

Many other club routes = speculate to accumulate ie you have to put in some cash with the view that you progress upwards. Ie a benign, interested, knowledgeable, efficient benefactor. This may mean running a deficit of varying degrees over several years. Does any club run totally self-sufficiently and totally profitably? Obviously, we all know the trick is to get the maximum return for the cash (ie. don’t to a Leeds under Ridsdale etc).

The Raos are clueless in any event and thus we have the utter nonsense of the last 15 years.

@glen9mullan Any chance this could be made available outside of X? A recording of it uploaded somewhere perhaps?

"The budget will remain the same"

Is all I need to know. One of the lowest in the Championship.

No ambition and no backing in the market is the conclusion.

so free transfers, raw academy players with dodgy loan signings😕and no contract extensions for our key players😥

what a way to run a football club

All I got from that interview was the club is only interested in bringing through players and selling them for a profit.

They aren’t arsed about the league we’re in. If we get promoted/ avoid relegation, it’s a bonus.

What a time to be a Rovers fan! I’m sorry, but they have to go. #VenkysOut

"We want to develop the club, if we get promoted that is a bonus, but not the aim this year"

"Venkys invest every year"..."We need to sell to cover running costs every year"

Excuse me what? How can it be the case that they invest but also we need to cover our own running costs before we get a transfer budget? Utter stupidity as an excuse and should have been called out by the interviewer.

He keeps saying fans need to trust the plan but they have done nothing in 15 years to garner any faith in them or their ability to do so.

Disgrace
