And all that would be far more acceptable and understandable if it was being done with less wealthy hands on ownership who had an interest in and cared about the club and fans.

People who have no choice but to run it like that but are genuinely following a long term plan to try for the Prem or seek extra investment to do so.

Non of which applies to this lot, the ownership and fans are back to just providing a platform for a set of individuals to profit from the club whilst feeding their own egos and ambitions regardless of where we end up.

It would also be different if the owners had not taken a stable, well run Premier League club and transformed it into a middling Championship club with zero ambition other than to break even with player sales. Even if we are to accept where we are at the present time (which I don't), there is no reason to forgive what they've turned this club into.

Difference being if handed my dosh over to, say, Chorley, my expectation would be their board are doing everything they can to get the best possible side on the pitch their resources allow in order to progress up the league(s).

Exactly that's how every club should be running. The aim is to win promotion/the league /the Cup whatever. That's sports its not a car washing business on the side of your 9-5 it's literally been created to win the game. Games are there to be won, its sports. People pay to see their team (hopefully) win something.

I wondered if a future campaign might riff off 'Welcome To Wrexham'

For example

'Welcome to Blackburn Rovers'

Episode 1

The new owners decide to dispense with the services of an experienced hand to steer the ship and replace him with a complete novice'

Always seemed a bit of reluctance to play him from the bald rat, must've been on massive appearance wonga or something.

Should have been our second tier version of Roque because he certainly still had quality.

The only 'model' that is acceptable under Venkys is the 'benefactor model'.

The only use they have ever been or can ever be to this club is putting money in.

If the plan is to break even then fine, but not with Venkys remaining in charge. Might as well put me or anyone else on here running it if it has to break even. We could do a better job on the operational side running it in our lunch breaks.

I can remember Salgado saying some stuff about Venky's in Twitter years ago. Wonder if he'd be interested in this?

We need people like tugay and friedel to speak up. Proper club legends. Fans might listen if they said something

Tugay hopefully?

Going through our personal contacts at present, people we know and have open dialogue with over a sustained period of time

Those we don't have direct contact details for is a tougher ask but not impossible

getting the outspoken chris sutton on side would be great, though his media work might be a no no on the rovers issue

He's the one person who speaks out against venkys.  He knows his stuff

Would love to hear a response from Dalglish, from Shearer even the likes of Simon Garner, Hendry real Rovers stalwarts that can slam them. Because those are the ones that know our fanbase bleed Blue and White.

They know us.

Ian Wright. Get Ian Wright involved man's a legend albeit as a gooner, he's a grounded fella too. Just a thought

Why on earth would Ian Wright be interested?

Might get one or two more of the foreign former players speaking up but only those based back abroad with no intention of seeking work over here.

Otherwise English football is a closed shop.

Big Sam has had numerous digs but declined opportunity to go both barrels and he was shafted by them. By far the most vocal have been Sutton and Shearer but they don't go the whole hog because at the end of the day we aren't Newcastle or Norwich, their clubs.
