Forever Blue Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 I hadn’t realised until reading the local paper that Eustace was a Waggott appointment rather than a Broughton one. 1 Quote

Andy Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 I've loaded up FM for the first time in ages tonight. We're mid-October, Rovers are 2nd from bottom and Eustace has just been sacked. His summer transfer dealings were 2 x free transfers (who I've never heard of). I know FM is known for being extremely realistic, but let's hope it's wrong on this occasion, eh...? 1 Quote

They’d wait whilst the spring at least. 2 Quote

That takes some doing, scoring five goals at the Stadium of Light by accident. Quote

He just hasn't made any statements recently telling us that we don't need to win football games or scoring goals isn't important or we should have an open top bus parade round town to celebrate the fact we're still in the football league. 1 Quote
MarkBRFC Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 I hope he manages to win a home game this coming season. 4 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Eustace will speak when he is told to,from a script those in charge want him to read from. He'll toe the party line like the rest. 6 Quote

We need one for John Eustace, as well as the extra large one for Alan Nixon. Thank you". Ever thought he might be on holiday, the cheeky barsteward? Quote
JHRover Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 If true that Eustace is a Waggott appointment we can be confident there will be no more 'ask Steve' which became a trademark of JDT's last 12 months. JDT a clever bloke I think and initially he held Broughton accountable, as most normal clubs would with a Director of Football, but then came to realise where the problem and power really rests. Culminating in him including the shadow man in his comments Awkward when all employees are expected to keep him hidden. JDT gone within a week of that outburst. A few more ins and outs to provide a facade of measures and reforms being implemented to change things for the better but fundamentally still the same organ grinders at the top of it and still the same agenda playing out, just this time more compliant and less vocal/ambitious people carrying it out. Plenty will be fooled by it, calmed by the passage of time, silence and transfer window shenanigans to occupy their thoughts. Nothing has really changed though. 7 Quote

I can't think of any other person at Ewood who has mentioned Suhail, so interesting what JDT did there and fair play to him. 8 Quote
Armchair supporter supremo Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/dwight-yorke-on-blackburn-rovers-managerial-snub-john-eustace/ How deluded is dwight yorke! Whatever your view on Eustace this is just a completely disrespectful thing to say about a fellow manager. Even if Eustace had never got the job Dwight Yorke would never even have been given serious consideration, that would have caused an enormous uproar and it's not like he was ever a fan favorite in his relatively short time here 3 Quote
tomphil Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Dwight Yorke is the guy who tried to blame being chased by Rovers fans in a car for one of his speeding fines. Not really a bloke anyone should listen too given his overall track record on a few things. 1 Quote

Andy Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 So his claim to being the right man for the Rovers job is 6 months of managerial experience in Australia and 'but I even played for them!'. What a deluded, privileged nob. Comparing himself to JDT 🤣 3 Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 He's obviously been on those funny mushrooms since retiring. He wasn't that good when he was here either. 2 Quote
jim mk2 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 You got the impression with Yorke that he was doing us a favour playing for Rovers and that really, he deserved better. Total contrast to Cole, who always gave 100 per cent when I saw him play. He's not welcome back at Ewood in any capacity 8 Quote
Forever Blue Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 At what point does Eustace think ‘feck it, I’m on a hiding to nothing, I’m done’? He must be starting to get very concerned. Even Jackson has said he thinks JE is getting ‘twitchy’. I’m guessing he’ll at some point start to put feelers out to see if there is anything of equivalent value out there for him to go to. A bit like JDT did last summer when he wanted to resign. 2 Quote
ABBEY Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 I'd he didn't know what he was signing up for he's either stupid or gullible. 2 Quote

He's in a tricky situation now, there obviously won't be anything available until we're a bit further into the season by which time we may be rooted to the bottom of the table which will ostensibly make him less attractive to potential suitors. Edit: If he were to walk pre season - what a message that would be. Not even Waggott or his PR arm the LT could put a gloss on losing two managers inside a few months.
