"There is lots of hard work ahead and we want to get to 50 points as quickly as we can, that is all we are thinking about.

Interesting seeing his expectations being set ... 50 points!

That's just who he is as a manager - very pragmatic.

He didn't say "I want to get to 50 points and call it a day", he said he wants to get to that target as quickly as possible. He obviously has aspirations of pushing on from there, but you've got to set milestones for the players - that's clearly a big one.

Oh for sure.

 No criticism from me

Just interesting to see him state that..very pragmatic.

Relatively good start so far considering.

Big game this week

Famously Ranieri set Leicester 50 points in 15/16. Nothing wrong with that approach.

I think it's healthy to break the season down into sections, get to the first international break, cling on through winter and then try and avoid the new year slump for once.

Not convinced he's anything other than a run of the mill championship manager.

We've beaten everyone at home who you would expect us to have a good chance of beating, scraped a couple of credible away draws, turned in some dismal performances away from home and now we've been soundly beaten by a team you expect us to get beat by.

We're doing nothing above and beyond really. Mid-lower table beckons, a complete non-entity of a season.

I suspect that "mid-lower" is optimistic. Bottom 3 by Xmas seems more likely. Can't score and likely to concede multiple goals particularly away from home. Much the same as the second half of last season but without a favourable outcome.

It's definitely a possibility and if we stop beating the teams at the lower end of the table at home, we're goosed.

We aren’t making enough chances. We weren’t last season either but then we had Sammi to put the odd chance away.

while i don`t think much of eustace tactics (if you are going to try and grind matches out,you still need a goal threat from somewhere) it`s not his fault that the indians and swag have given him virtually nothing to spend,40 million quid banked and 2 million or so spent,it`s not going to get you far, though even if he did achieve a miracle venkys  would just sabatage any chance we had of the play offs

Duffer for replacement if/when Eustace goes. Seemingly worked a miracle in the Irish league.

Damian Duff has a bit of the Roy Keane about him, he doesn’t suffer fools and as such, he wouldn’t come within 100 miles of the club in its present guise.

I reckon there’s a chance JE could go to Coventry.

He was upset with the lies this summer and offered his resignation early on. Was sold the narrative that he’d have significant cash to spend and then they pulled back. Knows now that he’s on a hiding to nothing. At Coventry, who he knows well, he’ll get backed with whatever he sells, closer to home etc.

My feeling, if they want him, they’ll get him.

JE offered to resign in the summer?

That’s a new one

Yep, no idea where he has got that from, unless hes getting confused with Tomasson.

Track record of Rothwell's dad on a train telling everyone that all of our out of contract players were about to follow Mowbray, and the Buckley £10m stuff isnt great.

Rumour has it that Eustace has applied for the Coventry job. Currently second favourite for it with the bookies behind Lampard.

Ever trusty social media. Must be something in it for him to come out of nowhere and be second favourite for the job though.

Alternatively those on social media behind the rumour are now laying Eustace at a much shorter price in the betting market than he should be - nice work if you can get it.

Nah nothing in it.

If a bunch of us on here put £50 each on Lee Carsley to get it he would all of a sudden be 2nd favourite for the job.
