I wonder if JDT wasn't allowed to play him due to costs ? I've read about that elsewhere, the most public one was Oxlaide at arsenal who had to be subbed before 75mins otherwise arsenal has to pay more, not saying that's the same but something like that perhaps in his contract, if he plays x games the he gets a bonus or something, knowing how the club are with money and they were so keen to get him off the books

Very well spotted. Hadn't worked that one out myself but makes sense.

It would be no surprise at all if he was due a bonus or payment for reaching 200 Rovers appearances and knowing the way we like to operate with 'add ons' suspect it was a hefty payment.

Waggott and the Indians will be all over such things and I've no doubt would instruct the manager and staff not to play a player due to this.

Interestingly, Wiki (I know!) have him on exactly 200 league appearances so I wonder if it might be when he tops 200 apps?

To be honest if the bonus trigger were the case I think it would have been more likely that JDT would pick him to spite Waggot and the owners. In fact I could imagine JDT starting Travis just to hook him after 5 mins to piss them off!

Great to have Travis back last night and man of the match to boot.

I can see him fitting in as a key player in a Eustace team. His role reminded me of when he first came through and looked a top talent as a box to box midfielder.

Keep those performances coming please.

Travis is one of them, not brilliant but also not shite, 6/10 minimum and now again will give you an 8/10

I like them both separately but playing together I think they lack the ability to find good forward passes and dominate the midfield. Id say play JRC deeper in a three with both of them.

Considering that Eustace doesnt seem to want to dominate the ball and is happy to play longer, more direct football, it could be a balanced pairing for him.

Eustace wants to mixed style. Sometimes short quick passing like we witness yesterday but then sometimes aim for Gueye or Yuki with a longer ball.

Stockport fans and management weren't happy with Travis' niggling swipes at one of their young loanees in the recent friendly. The player allegedly was injured as a result. I can't verify if he did get injured from these challenges (he is now out for weeks with a knee injury) but looking at them out of context of the match, they look very unnecessary for a friendly match.

I think Travis has a lot to prove to Rovers fans. For whatever reason, he wanted to leave under JDT and then found that he wasn't really needed by Ipswich, once he got there. He didn't play much, as far as I know. As a senior player, he's been pretty poor/average for some time - arguably, since his major injury in, I think, a cup match against Newcastle seasons ago. And that injury arose from him jumping in unnecessarily, I think.

Eustace gives Travis the arm around the shoulder and makes him captain. Now apparently he is off to Rangers presumably as a make weight for their winger. 

 Not smart to yank your captain at the start of the season. Whatever people think of him, he has started well and another Rovers man through and through.

Looks like it was just a bit of shit stirring from someone but certainly wouldn't begrudge Trav a move to Rangers if it was true.

I just have a feeling that someone inside Ewood is desperate to move him on, got rid of all the 15k+ pwk players so now time to start edging out the 10k+ ones.....

It didn't go unnoticed that the story appeared in the 'Scottish Sun' - of course a certain agent linked 'journo' for the English Sun can't make it through a week without linking a Rovers Player away.

I join the dots in these instances and it always tends to lead back to the same grubby agent infested circles
