He told me face to face, that the funds would be coming in February to keep the club afloat and stated that we only had enough to keep us going until February, back in November.

That now has to mean that the Wharton and Raya money will be used to fund the clubs day to day costs and not transfers. Any future sales in the summer, are highly unlikely to be used to strengthen, so there is a strong possibility that we go into next season, even weaker.

I hate to sound overly pessimistic, but my view on the Indian court decision, is is certainly not a foregone conclusion, which is what Waggott stated about the February hearing and is now doing to again, about August. 

Its account of everything that has happened including GB's comments, the money we have self generated through player sales, SW's comments to the Rovers trust.

What are you even going on about now? We have generated money through sales and sell on clauses so I think we will see some money spent this summer.

The only way any money is being spent is if the case in India is wrapped up

The timing of the court sittings suggest it won't be wrapped up in a time good enough for us to operate "normally" - if such a word ever existed in Venkyland

We should be in a good position to spend money. If we ended this year profitable - which we absolutely should do - then that gives us wiggle room to spend

If they know they are going to be able to send a lump of money mid season then there might be a little wiggle room in summer but without a cast iron guarantee it's unlikely anything more than the usual 500k for a lad from Crewe will be available.

Also included that in the £6 million budget. If you use the Wharton and Raya money the way GB mentioned this in his interview Like increase the wage budget, improve the academy, save some for January window in case we need major signing or 2.

Broughton isnt the first to talk about reinvesting transfer proceeds and trying to emulate clubs like Brentford and Brighton.

Nice ideas but thats all they are working for Venkys. We have never threatened to operate with such efficiency under them, they turn down bids in favour of letting contracts run down and have regular spells where the taps are turned off, with occasional sporadic spending unconnected to sales. So why would that change now when they are at peak levels of disinterest and still not rid of further red tape caused by their wrongdoings?

Surely you can't form an opinion without having a basis for it? As far as I can see you've just got a feeling that we will have money to spend.

Based on recent summers, why would you think that? We know Wharton has been sold, we know there's Raya money but why would you assume we'll see any of it?

Any sane person would suggest reinvesting in those areas. I think Broughton's intentions are obvious and I am sure are genuine even if I doubt he would be the best person to achieve those. But its irrelevant because we know it almost certainly wont happen. Why would Venkys owned Rovers suddenly turn into a normal, logical football club?

Broughton said what he would recommend to do but didn't come close to saying that it is likely to happen. I'm sure he is as aware as anyone that it is unlikely.
