Yes.

All footballers go for money. We all do. Go on any construction site and everybody is bragging about being on a quid more than the next man. It is no different for footballers

If a team had come in for Szmodics in January and offered him £10k a week more, he'd have been gone

Expand

Precisely. Ever single Rovers player is here for the money and if they got an offered of an increased salary from another club they would be gone as soon as they possibly could.

There’s a Ryan Gauld who plays in Canada, was once dubbed the Scottish Messi. I remember him leaving a Scottish club at a young age to play for Sp Lisbon or similar, but didn’t know he’d ended up in Toronto till I just looked it up. Think he’s a winger

Rovers were linked a few years ago when Mowbray was here

More a playmaker than a winger

Barge pole purely for the fact he's another sleight dainty player (although from stats alone, a good one).  Would be ok with it if he was a replacement of sat Markanday and he went on loan.  However very uninspiring, did they find an old scouting list when packing out Gregg's desk?

Football doesn’t work like that though. Besides, who could blame him being annoyed with us, for messing him about?

McGuire is absolutely not the issue here and never will be.

One person who would have the absolute right to slander the club was jdt, yet he didn’t , because there is a professional code and despite some morons working at our club it’s not the fans, players, fault who actually want the club to do well . In this instance I think it would be better if he said nothing at all other than he was disappointed with what happened if he was pressed on it

The fact he'll have had to sign a seriously written NDA on leaving in order to secure his pay off and protect the club from doing the very thing we'd all like to hear, let's not pretend it's all about moral codes.

Money buys silence.

Who cares? It makes a change from listening to grown men arguing over whether some American has disrespected the club or not…

It’s the transfer thread ffs 🤣🤣🤣

More likely to be Bobby Gould than Ryan Gauld but bring it on!

You think McGuire wasn’t given some sort of financial compensation for this? I’d be amazed if not

Bring on ficticious (im not saying this specific one, it was more a comment at the likelihood of there being truth in it) transfer rumours made up to pass the time?

For what though? Yeah we wasted his time but he was still being paid by Orlando. Might have covered his mini bar bill I guess.

Jackson has no more of a clue than anyone on here about what will happen this summer.

Full of if's and maybes and total guess work.

Not sure what ?

Plane fare, taxi's and hotel that's fair enough although we've been told he was told NOT to get on the plane but did anyway because Sheff W were interested.

Signings fall through all the time although admittedly not in this daft fashion but he can stick a comp claim where the sun doesn't shine.

Well I think we've just found a winner for the theme of  this summer's wildly off topic tangent discussions.

This summer? If we're honest, we've been getting shafted in an unwelcome manner for over a decade.

If he had negotiated a higher wage with us than his Orlando one, or any bonuses/fees etc, we could be liable to pay those as he wasn't at fault. Loss of earnings and all that.
