Have you Duru or Gent play?

Why is £7m is unrealistic?.

How many signings do we need? Positions aswell please?

When was the last time we spent £7 Million?

I'm loving this 6 or 7 million being chucked around again, every summer it's the same.

It ain't happening unless someone has a rush of blood over another Brereton style 'investment'.

Well, not really. Its just one persons opinion against another, not what will happen.

No, and thats the point. No one has seen Duru play senior football. Gent at least has a bit of senior experience, but I dont agree with reducing the number of signings assuming that youngsters are ready. We did it with Batty last season and he wasnt ready and we left ourselves short. We did it with Vale and he wasnt good enough. We can't just assume that young lads who have never played are ready, based on pre season. If they come through, bonus.

£7m is unrealistic because we have terrible owners, with history of not reinvesting sales, and crucially at the moment fighting an ongoing legal case of their own making which wont be cleared until at least August.

We need to gut the squad. We need 2 goalkeepers really but at least 1. A couple of full backs as we only have 2 senior full backs. One or two centre backs. A couple of wingers. A couple of strikers. An attacking midfielder and maybe a central midfielder. We wont get all that, or even close, but thats what is needed.

Szmodics was £2m, Brittain £900k and Hyam £1.5m I think. According to the LT. Maths not your strong suit.

We can assume it if the head coach rates the player and will use them. I would still back up full back or a player who can 2 or 3 positions.

We cant reinvest cos we bring in revenue into the club from commercial side of the club, non football match day revenue, etc.

The owners just paid off the annual season debt. This coming season they don't need to so I think we get some investment like 2 seasons ago

On the India, supposedly Venkys can sent money over and match it in a bond to Indian government

The squad need about 7 signings to it.

All 3 deals were undisclosed fess so we don't every detail like transfers fees, add ons, etc

Hellfire Chaddy, you don’t help yourself.

You’re confident we definitely spent £7m on those three players despite being ‘undisclosed’ and ‘we don’t know every detail’, and the only decent source of info with any numbers claiming we spent under £5m.

’Excellent’ indeed. 🙄

Just for clarity, the owners CANNOT send any funds at the minute, even if they deposit a bond. The £11m sent in November was on that basis, so £11m sent and £11m put in a bond. The reason for the bond is the authorities want assurances that the funds are being used for the purpose stated and that’s been stated as protecting their investment, which in itself may be a false statement.

They need court permission to send any further funds, hence the February and March court dates, which as we all know is now August. This hearing will determine whether or not, they can send  any further funds, as right now, they are banned from doing so. This has come from Waggot directly in a meeting I had with him in November and since then, the owners have sent 0 simply because they can’t.,

As I understand the situation this is correct.

So the £5m Raya money is going to be swallowed up by running costs, just like the first installment of the Wharton money?

I don't mind that happening, if it is needed. I would just like the club to tell us the truth. Highly unlikely I know.

It's not just the sums not adding up but the contradiction... undisclosed fees when it suits, circa £5m spent when asked to support his comment.

+ adding wages, agent fees etc into the equation when everyone knows it’s transfer fees which are being discussed

The only way the club can progress is to reinvest a portion of player sales into new players who will make the team stronger. Using player sales to keep the lights on will only end one way - a well lit club in L2.

So your saying we spent £7m two years ago, and when someone quotes the prices back you say well we don't know because they were undisclosed.

Good grief.

Players will leave so there will be some kind of budget.

Szmodics 10-12m

Dolan or Gallagher 1m

Travis 2m

Siggy (if he doesn’t sign) - 1.5m

Then the loanies going out (wages) which I know won’t be much.

What we’d get from all that I don’t know, 2-3m on new players?

See I think priority #1 is to keep the club alive, #2 to spend the remaining money on players, wisely. All this talk of multiple players needed, is pie in the sky. If we sign a decent keeper I will be pacified, not satified but it will be something to work with.

Hawking Szmodics around to anyone and everyone right now then I'd imagine.

Right so after JDT first season we were hoping for a play off spot and well we almost got relegated

Next season is now about survival

So I don't care who we sign as long as they're good enough and actually improve the team

I think the majority agree depending on who makes an impression during pre season we need to strengthen these positions

Gk-starter

Fb-cover

Cb-cover/starter quality

Cm-cover/potential starter

Cam-starter as Szmodics replacement

Wingers-starters

St-obviously a starter

Cm cam and fb all depends on if Szmodics and Travis leave and if Gent, Batty or Duru impress enough during pre season

So given that as long as they're good enough to improve the overall squad and actually improve us so we aren't fearing for another relegation battle again

I know some won't agree with me saying that but currently that's our reality and I think improving the squad through out with some depth is just as important not every player we need to sign has to be a starter if they can improve the bench and make an impact or if we get an injury they can step in and we don't get weaker

This won't happen but I'm hoping that it does as it'll make us more competitive in time

Yet the bullhitter is portraying again that is all ok whilst in reality transfer income is funding everything and there'll be next to non of it to reinvest.

All sounds correct. Where does this leave the club in terms of paying existing wages and bills through May, June, and July (at least)? It sounds like this itself is a huge challenge without a big sale, and any talk of transfers in is, essentially, moot...
