The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

Recommended Posts

When JDT bought him self out of contract in february, there were rumours that he had been told about a firesale this summer., which added to his desire to leave the club.. I expect that a lot of our first team players will leave and be substituted by loanees and freebies.

Is he unsure?

He is unsure who the guy is was the last part I seen he said on X

You’ve just answered your own question 😉

The problem is, even if we do bring in a replacement, and even if he has pedigree, what chance has he got within this shoddy set up of charlatans?

It’ll be another five minute wonder.

There are actually some really good free agents coming (or already) available, some will require a decent wage which will probably rule us out... but there are plenty i'd take that'd make a huge difference to our squad without paying transfer fees.

To name a few...
Josh Bowler
Sorba Thomas
Max Lowe
Wes Foderingham
Herbie Kane
Aaron Connolly
Tyrese Campbell
Paddy McNair
Chris Willock
Sam McCallum
Jake Cooper
Josh Onomah

Sorba Thomas is under contract until 2026? Jake Cooper signed a new 'long term contract' in August. I think the reason sites like transfermrkt have it as ending this summer like it was previously due to is because Millwall never announced the length of the new deal. Josh Onomah hasn't had a club for a year, bit of a risk.

Norwood released from Sheff United... Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see us go after him.

Josh Knight of Peterborough been offered a contract at Werder Bremen... Bet we inquired on that aswell.

He’s a Burnley lad, can’t see him fancying it here. (I think it would be a good, sensible signing though!)

Didn't realise, he can f*ck off then.

Makes me laugh how many people bang on as they know what they’re talking about with Nixon.

Coming from a guy he blocked years ago, so I’m certainly NOT a Nickoteen (whatever those are) - but Nixon has probably been right on us more than anyone else in the last 12-18 months.

He probably has. Hes the only mainstream reporter who bothers with us and he ensures that he covers all bases, for example he was right on Wharton to Palace because he linked half the Premier League with him.

some good players there, but as ever they won`t be short of offers and the glacial pace we move it`s unlikely we`ll get any of them

We'll be probably be looking at who ever the free agents are on the next rung or two down from that lot.

We're looking at a free agent from the National League according to reports. Venkys are dumbing down the playing squad to take us to the next level.

Cadden, Cole and Kane from Barnsley all released.  By no means starting eleven players but a more attacking fullback to Pickering, a more industrious midfielder to what we have and a striker with different qualities to Gally?

This is really bleak isn't it.

don`t know much about cadden but cole is past his best  and herbie kane is a bottom division player, all the indications of another dreadful summer  were highlighted when gallagher got another year,it`s crystal that there won`t be anyone coming in of  any discernable quality,i hope sammie gets a move,he deserves better  than hanging around here with a bunch of unambitious plodders

Seems the majority have realised we won't be spending any real money this summer.

Someone up the page also mentioned a fire sale of current players which wouldn't surprise me in the least.

With the known financial challenges and JE's comments I fully expect close to £0 spent on fees this summer. Gally will be our first striker come the start of the season.

It wasn't his decision. Venky's appointed a football consultancy to advise the best way forward. They recommended a DOF approach and a recruitment consultancy was appointed to find a DOF.

Sunish and Waggot were not involved on either decision and hence Waggot always resented Broughton being appointed and did everything possible to undermine him.

Just pathetic isn't. Makes me sick to even think how many millions that all wasted "project" costed. I'm guessing the consultancy company alone cost at least hundreds of thousands just for their advice

Here's hoping that hiring the agency and attempting the dof route was the venkys last role of the dice to make something of the mess they have created and now they're looking to just cash in on every player asset we have before finally pishing off. (we can only dream🤞

What makes you say this?

Do you not think the whole point of getting rid GB was to better DoF and with experience of doing the role beforehand

Nixon was spot on Silvester going, Baker coming in, GB leaving. He has said GB will be replace so let's wait and what happens shortly.

Is he better than we got?

I was no Broughton fan but, IMO, one of the reasons he's gone and paid 'hush money' is he knew too much about the shenanigans at Rovers not least the debacles of the last two January windows where we 'lost' 3 players, allegedly 'admin errors'!

My only expectation is another Waggott 'yes man' will be appointed in order to keep good company with our 'yes man' Head Coach.

Have a feeling Sean Kimberley will get the role as DOF.

That would send shivers down my spine.  What's he achieved in his career?

Think there could be some clearout in the summer with coaches...

Hopefully, Benson and Lowe will be first through the exit door.

We need a goalie coach who has played the game and earned his stripes - in years gone by we've seen the likes of Gennoe, Mimms, Flowers and Kelly in goalie coach roles at different clubs, all very decent keepers who no doubt know the art of keeping inside out.  Think we need someone with a similar profile to those four.

As for Lowe, how can there be a role for him when we have Eustace, Gardiner, Downing and Johnson.  A mystery to me how Lowe has kept a job at Rovers for so long - I think he must know too much about skeletons and cupboards!

Fully expect our first starting 11 of the season to be:

---------------------Pears

Brittain----Carter---Hyam---Pickering

-----------Tronstad----JRC

Dolan--------Sigurdsson-----Hedges

------------------Gallagher

Edit: forgot about Siggy, Sammy will be sold ASAP.

Did Venkys sack him themselves or did Waggott and Pasha recommend his removal?

The reason Wharton was linked with so many teams was his quality. Ashworth personally came to games to scout him..

Doncaster beating us to his signature.

We can't even compete on wages with them now

Did we ever look at him? Or did Football insider get the wrong Rovers team in the article

All depends what his role involves and he directly reports to.

I'm hoping we get a good appointment
