Trade for Buckley? Hasn’t kicked on and probably suits Schumacher more than JE?

BankEnd Rover told me off the other day for suggesting we may sign Brannagan if we can sell one of our own CMs for more than Brannagan would cost.

Or maybe Rover Insider is right and all these names are just a smokescreen and we’ve no intention of signing any of them.

Don’t make me tell you off again! I’m in one of those moods today.

Baker has had a weird career spent primarily on loan all over the place. Seemed to have made the breakthrough at Stoke and fell out with Neil.

Did score a worldie free kick last season against Rotherham mind, would be nice to have someone who could do that. Well aware Buckley scored from a free kick yesterday but it was almost a pass into the net. When you're shite at scoring from open play a free kick specialist would be a massive asset.

The longer this goes on the lower people's expectations will become and we'd accept signing pretty much anyone 🥲

I'd say it's definitely correct.

We're running on the funds generated from Wharton and presumably Raya/new tv deal at the minute.

How are we going to offer a competitive wage for Cooper, and a transfer fee and wages for Baker?

We can't even get a 37 year old over the line who was already in the building.

It's just not happening, all these links to these kind of players are just insulting our intelligence.

The likes of the nantes under 19 player we were linked to yesterday is our pool this summer.

Honestly, I don’t buy the conspiracy theories.

Why would we hire 3/4 people as heads of recruitment etc if we had no intention of signing anyone.

Whats clear is that we’re skint and self funding until Venkys agree to start funding us again.

I have a bit of insight into football transfers through friends who have played and now manage / coach in EFL. The picture changes hourly…eg - Rovers get an enquiry for SS at £8m and they want £10m. Thinking it might happen, they start putting enquiries out for a couple of fee costing signings and speak with the agents of (for example) Brannigan and Baker. Those agents then get excited and start contacting other clubs to get a bidding war going and it gets ‘leaked’….then the SS trail goes cold and we, looking from the outside label the media and ‘ITK’ers’ as liars…rinse, repeat!

Anyone out in Austria any idea if Szmodics was at the game yesterday?Has he got an injury or is he off?

I was told he did a twenty minute training session before the game alone.

I’m not normally one for conspiracy theories, but I wouldn’t put it past the people who run our club to deflect from reality by chucking a few names out there.

Transfer tittle-tattle is opiate for the masses!

Lewis baker would be a steady signing…However he’s a midfielder and would cost a fee so it’s not happening.

Is there another team in for him besides Rovers ? If there is he won’t be coming here.

As far as i see it the recruitment dept do their job and present players to the manager who then presents them to the ..er board if you can call it that.

Then that's where it all falls down but it does look like we are doing something when a few names get 'leaked'.

As we know the few words we do hear and the actual intentions of those running the club are two different things.

Which is all well and good at a normal club, and something we can all understand.

However here, it doesn't matter a jot as whatever fee comes in for Szmodics will be used for running costs for how ever long.

To answer your question about what's the point in having a recruitment team if we won't be signing anyone, we will be signing someone I have no doubt, but it will be the dregs of the loan market in the last week of August where clubs are desperate to get players off there books in exchange for gametime. Also to help find cheap "gems" for the under 21 side.

There's no chance anyone of any decent championship experience comes here this summer, because we can't or won't be prepared to pay what it takes to get them here.

It will be players in from Europe on low wages for small fees or loans to bulk the squad up. No way they will take on Bakers wage, probably one of their top earners.

29 years old. We won’t give him a 2/3 contract on the salary he’s earning at Stoke.

I agree with you on the character of those people.

However, I don’t think they give a shiny shit about the masses and therefore wouldn’t care nearly enough to start fabricating rumours in this way.

Who senses it could be a “toxic” season ahead? I don’t think it’s going to be pretty. Fans have had enough.

Voices will be heard…

Fans will simply react to what they see, or don't see, on the pitch.

Most of the "voices" stopped going regularly long ago after the Steve kean disgrace.

Most the young fans that go now have grown up not knowing much else than venky shite so they're just used to the bs and see it as the norm (jeez if we did ever get bought out by respectable owners and started moving forward again it really would blow their little minds 😅😅

Jdt said last year that he ended up saying YES to every player presented, because he understood that no player came in. I.e. handgranade

The truth is, none of us know. We don’t know if this is a huge plan to decimate us as a club or not…there’s a million and one scenarios that could be playing out.

Are Venkys about to sell?

Are we now self funding forever, or until we fold?

Will the taps turn back on after the court case?

Has JE been told he can have any money raised from a sale of SS? SG?

I could go on and on…the point is we don’t know. Which makes yours and others strong assertions that there’s “no chance…” lack any credibility.

We can’t even lean on precedence because we haven’t actually been in THIS Scenario before, even with these clowns.
