Exactly. None of our transfer business will matter a jot if we don't bring in a better goalkeeper than Pears. We'd be left praying for the miracle of Pears actually having a consistent season, when he's probably never been consistent for a run of more than about 5 or 6 games at his best.

Think the paddy was more to do with by that point he was out the loop and feeding too much bull people began seeing through it and calling him out.

Vale was doing ok for Motherwell as a second forward on loan last season - not scoring much but doing enough in build up play to stay in their team.

Really, now would be a good time to try and sell, as I do believe he will struggle at Rovers. But, we’re so short of players and there doesn’t seem to be much in place by the way of a transfers strategy, we will probably end up relying on him.

Agreed…Dembele will cost, I’d say, 1.2mill…can’t see us spending anything remotely like that.

500k on another striker and the rest will be loans and frees - good luck.
