Good to see the model of developing young English players and selling on is so well established with our latest 3 signings & Goodness knows what the combined age of our touted defence will be.
(Any young ones developed leave before they establish a first team place)

Remember the AC Milan back 4 of

Maldini

Costacurta

Baresi

Tassotti.

Yeah? well it won't be anything like that.

My prediction is McFadzean is off and Batth is after a u turn on McFadzean.

Elliot still saying both in his article today.

Out of contract next summer, if we had anything about us we would be getting that extended before allowing him out on loan, he'll he on an academy wage at best.

Maybe that’s what is happening but I just know Barnsley have been chasing him since his loan ended at Motherwell.

He signed a 3 year (first pro deal) at the age of 18,  No option etc.  He will be on circa £500/week at most

Rovers should absolutely be extending it if they think he has a future here.  And if they don't then why are they loaning rather than selling

My guess is they're getting Mcfadzean and Batth for similar wages as Cooper. They've both held out for other higher offers and this best they can get.

If O'Riordan isn't going to get a chance then I'd get him loaned out aswell. Can't see him starting ahead of Batth or Fadz

The lightning fast forward will initially join Rovers’ emerging talent group, where he will hope to impress for Mike Sheron’s side as he looks to make the next step in his career into first team football. Mafoumbi becomes the third new forward to arrive at Rovers in the last 24 hours.

Confirmed. U23 signing. 👍🏻

There is no such thing as the U23's.

Jeez, why would we want both?! Surely one experienced (very old) CB coming in is enough. It’ll be like watching two oil tankers turning if they’re both on the pitch together.

Because they’re cheap!

It will be Waggot trying to be cleaver, they will each have a contract clause that after a certain number of games they get an extension and/or bonus, and having both reduces that "risk"

Gent to Barnsley on loan? Would be a great loan for him, if it’s true.

Would it hell, you do realise how thin our current squad is don't ya?

He said a great loan for him, not for us.

JE has clearly made the decision that championship football isn’t for him yet, despite impressing at Motherwell. Don’t think we can attribute this to money. He’ll earn very little and the fee will be small with a year left on his deal. Maybe explains why they are signing Batth and Fadz if they now need a left back.

If they are shipping Gent out permanently after the season he's just had and considering he plays in a position we are not exactly stacked in then I can only assume someone has really ballsed up his contract renewal negotiations and they know he's walking next summer.

If we were so hard up that we have to accept whatever Barnsley can offer we wouldn't have signed Big Mak for a fee.

It's the norm for it to be paid in installments

Brentford won't be getting all the Raya fee from Arsenal in one go ,it will be paid in installments

Fair enough, obviously nearly all transfer fees are paid in installments over the life of the contract these days; I just mistakenly assumed Add ons and sell on clauses were payable immediately.

Makes sense when you think about It I suppose.
