Is this "bless them" as in it's unrealistic, or "bless them" as in he's shite, or none of the above?

Very skillful player who disappears when the going gets tough.

Would probably do very well in a team that is flying and suspect he will have a very decent career in the Prem.  But he is not the player that you want as a mid/lower end of the table Championship team that needs to dig in to get results.

He was ok (not spectacular so don't get too excited) for Rovers in the first half of last season when we were going well, but awful and as such hardy featured once the wheels came off after xmas.  So I suppose how good a signing he may be depends on where Stoke should be aiming this season.

Just out of interest, is Stokes entire transfer strategy to buy Rovers squad from last season?  Ennis, Gally, linked with Travis & Moran 😉

I would have thought Ennis and Gallagher would have been enough of that particular line of thinking?

He means he's shite and not worth fighting over.

Personally I'd say he's...alright. Has talent and is one of those players that go on to succeed in another Championship side tbh, kinda like Morton did at Hull after being mostly wank here. But Moran in no way set the world alight here. Looked good in flashes, looked a bit shite for longer though. You'd need his game to kick on from where he's been at for it to be a good loan, but he showed enough for me to say that's possible.

We do seem to have developed a penchant for cherry-picking your best talent 😃

I think that you are severely underestimating just how much money Premier League teams (including newly promoted ones) pay their players

Nah i'm not having it sorry they aren't taking a player from here on c12/15k a week and giving him a 40 or 50 grand a week 3 or 4 year deal.

You lads are fantasising @Paul Mani

If he was on a free yes and yes they might give that to a marquee signing or two but come on they won't even cough up a modest fee yet. Never mind the fact him and his agent would be spitting absolute fire at Rovers for potentially denying him that kind of coin.

Lets me more sensible and assume he'd be on 25/30 grand a week which is still a massive pay rise and contract and more than enough to tempt him.

A lot of people really overstate the amounts a newly promoted Prem club will chuck out on a player with no Prem experience and the potential to be on their books for a few years back in the Championship.

Likes of Ipswich cut their cloth accordingly these days then if it doesn't work out first season they've plenty to spare from the parachutes.

That 3 or 4 year deal would include a 50% wage decrease in the event of relegation (standard across the board, as are 100% wage increases for Promotion to the Prem)

Which means that if Ipswich were to buy Szmodics and get relegated, his wage in the Championship would be £20-£25K/week, which for a club with parachute payments is not out of reach

We can be a bit harsh on here i'm sure you've noticed and some of the Moran comments are correct he looks good when the going is good but disappears the min it isn't. However these are young developing players from Prem clubs and are sent to our respective outfits to learn and grow and that's what happens.

They are often physically not up to it, raw but have clear ability yet need to also develop that mental edge of coping in often struggling sides.

A few seasons ago we had Morton from Liverpool and Moran replaced him in the squad last season and i think most thought, at first, he was an upgrade.  Meanwhile Morton does a season at Hull and earns wide spread praise from their fans and the clamour for him back.

A year old, stronger, wiser and a bit more experience which is what you might get from Moran, still another Rovers cast off though 🤣

Carry on cherry-picking!

For me, you can have the feckin lot other than Carter, Tronstad, Rankin-Costello, Travis, Gueye, Weimann and Ohasi.

As bonuses, we can throw in our CEO, COO and goalkeeper / set piece specialist!

We also had Branthwaite previously and I would have never thought he would become a £60m+ rated defender. Harwood-Bellis looked by far the better player.
