The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

Recommended Posts

Well if nothing else this summer window should be quite entertaining.

I think it's probably better for your mental health to just sit back and have a jolly good laugh at what a complete circus this is. I know that's what I'll be doing.

Has anyone listen to Gestede interview? any good? worth a listen or not?

I think he said he’s excited 4 times; fans need to show up; & people for the club behind the scenes are working hard, etc.

About what you’d expect.

Rudy works for Steve and Suhail they are his bosses and his mentors and in turn he is another protection layer in front of them.

Therefore he'll be speaking for them whilst they hide in the shadows 'doing their best' and 'looking into things' so they certainly wont get called out or get veiled digs JDT and GB style.

We wish him well in this created role and hope he is a huge success ....whilst it lasts.

We did 2 summers ago.

How much do want to spend? What a decent money for us?

Can't see what we did 2 summers ago having any relevance. Surely, since we only avoided relegation on the last day of the season we need a much stronger squad and that requires money.

Stupid post.

Simply not true that there are no current impediments to the current funding of the club by the owners nor that the court case has nothing to do with the running of the club.

So when they put the usual money in in summer then to run the club all the Wharton transfer instalments and Raya money should be freed up for investment !

Nice one Steve, don't waste it.

He will be as much use to us as  “Bambi on ice” 🤣🤣

"I think communication is key, they have to know what's going on to a certain extent obviously. If you want them to feel part of the club then you need to make them feel like they know what's happening in the club.

"I'm pleased we're doing this already. Steve Waggott is doing his best to ensure the fans know what's happening in the club.

"I think Steve is working to make sure we are improved on everything and we're all aligned in the same direction."

Rudy Waggot.

Christ what a complete load of shite, years of managed decline along with zero communication about what the plan is. But well done Steve, you're doing your best...

Agree. Thought it was a poor and patronising interview.

"We need the fans, we need them to turn up for games and we need them to understand the plan of the club. Where we are going and why we're going this way," he told RoversTV.

Tell us he's all about communicating - yet doesn't tell us what the plan of the club is and why.

Which is basically what people have been asking since we were relegated from the Prem.

From the outside it looks like we just sell all our best best players at the first opportunity. Reinvest almost nothing and are happy just to promote as many as needed from the academy. The only clear statement about a 'football plan' was to avoid relegation.

So come on Rudy, spill the beans.  Where are we going?

We're going to L1.

We've just sacked a far more qualified and ambitious man because he upset the establishment. In January we forced out a talented and ambitious manager for similar reasons.

Those in the board room will be delighted with survival this year because they know no money is going to be spent.

He is another one talking about a plan, used to be journey then it was project then it was a changed project but now it's a plan.

Can someone down there please tell us what it actually is ?

Because all we see is an effort to shove as many youth as possible in the squad to drive down the wage bill. Sell the best of those as soon as possible alongside any worthy senior player. Then reinvest nothing and use the money to pay the running costs and whilst this penny pinching is going on they bloat the exec structure year on year for some bizarre reason.

Only plan i can see is pray there is enough resolve in the squad and head coach to avoid relegation year on year.

Not a stupid post all. Cos we spent money that summer.

Also we can build a good squad on all 3 type of transfers of signing players for fees, loan players and free agents..

For example, if we sign Tyrese Campbell on a free then sign Tom Cannon on loan. We have improve the forward line. Or equal sign Ryan Hardie from Plymouth for £2.5m and sign free agent Aaron Connolly and you have improve your forward line.

If our budget around £5m for transfers we should be able to sign 6 to 8 good players

Thought if was 7 million minimum?

It’ll be £4m next week and then £3m the week after. By the end of the window it will be ‘trust the process, we’ve bought in some amazing free transfers without having to spend any money’.

I’m starting to think the C in BRFCS stands for Chaddy as it seems to be his own personal site recently.

Genuine question. Out of our last 6 transfers largely believed to be under £1m each, which have turned out to be good. Or alternatively, how far back do we have to go to find 6 transfers under £1m which turned out to be good.

Putting aside the argument of the quality you can get around this price range, this assumes all will come good, which isn't likely.

Loads of dosh brought in from Wharton, Raya and soon Sammie.

So presumably a decent transfer budget then if there’s no court issues?

Which has nothing to do with how he would know.
As for the transfer budget, we live in hope.

All talk is shite.

Actions short of new players entering the building and signing a contract, are shite.

There is a helluva lot of shite around (including this drivel), and we will have to endure endless volumes more before anything actually happens (even if anything actually happens in the end, other than another dose of mindless downgrading of our club, our expectations and our player capabilities).

Mods, please can we have a thread for 'actual' transfer activity, rather than mindless shite (like this)? Thanks.

Some signings turn out good or not.

I think Ryan Hardie and Miyoshi would be very good signing. Keeper like Wilson would improve us. Then free agent like Campbell would improve us cos I think he has talent just needs a manager to get out of him
