Fair play to the lad! He sounds a very promising player but he plays in a position we’re well stocked. Quote

Where did Ronaldo and Beckham fit into this plan? 1 Quote

Popular Post Ghost7 Posted June 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 18, 2024 It's clear we've gone into this summer without a plan, and how could we under this ownership? You can't help but feel (if you have any sense) that the club has taken a huge step backwards over the past 12 months from what looked like progress. No plan, no ambition and funds not being reinvested into the first team anywhere near sufficiently enough to progress. The problem when you're this disorganised is that the money that does get spent is wasted; and you will always struggle to attract fans, a decent manager and good players. Most CEOs would have been potted by now if league success and prosperity of the club truly was the goal. The reality is it isn't and anyone who's ambition isn't disingenuous and falls more on the sporting side will eventually be forced out. Yet again, there is one common denominator in all of this... Venky's. They are an old school Indian business lost in its own bureaucracy, unable to make decisions and give anyone a decent platform to perform. They aren't even capable of telling their own season ticket holders why they are here and what their goal for the football club is, neither is the current Chief Executive. They are incapable of running a successful football club and never will be. Still finding their feet 15 years later... unwilling to communicate and their intentions still a mystery. We will not do anything until they are gone. 39 Quote

Whether that's true or not, and I lean towards not, it wasn't the point. We lose Szmodics, we go down. We were very very lucky that he stepped up. If Rovers were a club with a good history of selling and reinvesting I'd be more positive. 2 Quote
Bohinen1983 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 How long does it usually take to find out the summer transfer budget?👀 You'd think that would be agreed way in advance of the summer to allow for scouting etc... 1 Quote

I disagree, we will stay up with or without Szmodics, if we sort out the keeper situation. 1 1 Quote

We will not do anything until they are gone. Just 12 short months ago, we were going into a season with optimism, having finished 7th and had a bright young manager, playing an attractive and largely successful brand of football. Once the season ticket sales had ended, we were told about the change of plan, dressed up as changes in Indian tax laws, which resulted in a cut in funding. This as we now know, was in essence the owners found to be sending illegal funds, which was the real reason for the cut and since then a series of conflicting messages have been slowly released. What sort of further bad news will come out after the season ticket sales are completed this year, remains to be seen, but further chaos will ensue and the fans will continue to suffer. 4 Quote

Popular Post JHRover Posted June 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 18, 2024 Fans Forum minutes of 15th April 2024 - Steve Waggott states that discussions on budgets are ongoing with the owners and plans are being developed. Lancashire Telegraph 15th June 2024 Steve Waggott quoted as saying a request has been made to Venkys for funding for operational costs and a playing budget. Rumours that the invisible man has jetted out to India recently to discuss this So what have they actually accomplished in the last 2 months other than torpedoing our summer transfer window? 11 Quote
