Anyone who last season saw the interview on the pitch at Leicester and that interview Sammy did with Big Sam knows he was going. If anyone honestly believed Szmodics would be here on the 31st August then they seriously aren’t paying attention.

Norhing has happened so far that surprises me. I said Szmodics and 1 other would be sold, and a few cheapies would be brought in. Nobody over £500k.I didn’t expect the other sale to be Gally but there you go. Plus £500k now is laughable.

I'm still struggling to see the point of adding an £8m release clause to a contract that was, effectively, an extra year at a higher wage. Am I missing something here?

Not really. We probably would have got £8mill anyway.
