Funny how all the players who were classed as injured over the past few weeks are being sold…Only one left is Siggy who like Gally and Gent, has one year left…Hmmm

Sell Siggy and buy the Finnish lad.

Batty is still at the Rovers, Gent has been sold to Barnsley, neither are first team players. I don't see how Gent has overtaken Batty.

Gent has had a full season playing professional first team games, although at an average level. Now he's moving to a league one club to play more regular games

Batty has played 2 professional games in his career so far, and looked poor in both. He will probably still be around here playing u21 football next season.

Therfore Gent has overtaken Batty in professional football at this point.

So confirmation that we're still interested in Keskinen which is good to hear as i've been fanboying him for a few weeks.

Young, quick, direct and can finish - Looks like a baller

Confirmation from where? Thought it was the opposite

There’s no gaurentees in life but if you can’t recognise Szmodics was a significantly smaller gamble that Gueye and Ohashi then were just not going to find middle ground here sadly.

I think you're rewriting history a bit on how 'good' of a signing Szmodics was when he joined.

He'd made 39 appearances in the Championship prior to signing for us and hardly shone during that period. He'd had two good seasons in League One, but 'standout' might be a bit strong.

I don't think he was in the team of the year for League One the season before we signed him and there was hardly huge enthusiasm surrounding the signing at the time. Too old to be a prospect and fundamentally unproven at the level we were at.

It paid off, and then some, but it didn't exactly seem like an incredible signing at the time.

Have you seen Gent play ? I have on numerous occasions, and there is not much about him.

You'd think 29 games in the Scottish Prem and good reviews would perfectly place him to be knocking on the door here next season.

If he is as good as is reported then as he's just aged 16 further development at a PL academy is very sensible rather than being forced into a first team squad because the club have to due to squad numbers, and probably benched often.

If he's top class like that Spanish lad then we've been robbed of a talent that should have hung out for Real Madrid or similar after a year or 2 in Germany at one of their elite clubs like Bellingham did

His development here would have been enhanced as he would be training with the seniors. I'd hazard a guess that at Newcastle he will be training with the under 21's. It's not dissimilar to the situation with Igor Tyjon who along with his advisers thought it would be better for his career to stay here. If he develops and gets the right exposure a big move would inevitably come.

Quote from LCC (last paragraph)

“Finally, Topi Keskinen is another player who has been linked with a move to Ewood Park this summer but it is understood that nothing is imminent at the time of writing”

Jackson has then contradicted saying nothing in it..yet

All in all I don’t think Jackson has a clue….But he still follows and we still believe.

Does it? Neither of those are left backs.

No. I mean they now need a left back as well as 2 centre backs. Might mean they aren’t as fussed about one of their centre halves being left sided.
