But loan them out so they learn their trade and make their mistakes elsewhere.

Although to be fair Steele never made the bloopers that Pears and Leo do.

He does'nt score goals, but his workrate is 100%. Play him in another position, and sign some proven regular goalscorers.

Agreed. We need proven regular goalscorers! I think most managers/head coaches in the Championship would want Gallagher, due to his work rate and ability to contribute defensively. I guess Eustace is one of those that rates that part of his game. Meanwhile Eustace has recently stated that he needs more goalscorers.

Statistically Rovers are doing better with Gallagher on the pitch than when he does not play.

Whether people rate Gallagher or not - by extending his contract Rovers are able to get a fee for him if we want to sell him this summer.

Playing him in one of the wide attacking roles is borderline criminal, not only does he offer nothing as a winger but it means we'd be neglecting to buy an actual one as we'd be just dumping Gallagher out there.

Perhaps Gally should be tried in a central midfield role

What makes you think that he’s got any of the skills required to play in midfield ?

Well he has got none of the skills required of a striker, so try him somewhere else.

Steele has developed his passing a lot since he was here. His handling wasn't good either, I remember I used to call him Jason 'Hands of' Steele because he could never hold a ball. Better than the current ones though, although Pears has developed his top level somewhat, but not sure he has the personality needed to make for a great GK.

As Tim Flowers once said it's not about the spectacular tv saves and tipping them out the top corner, no, being a good keeper is all about being good at the basics and minimising mistakes.

The two we have now have a long way to go but Pears would be ok if one game in four he didn't lose the plot, the errors are way too often for my liking.

Pears makes at least one howler in every game.

Makes you think our coaching is shite.

I can name you 3 pears mistakes off the top of my head that no other champ keeper would’ve made.

im sorry, and i know he done his part in keeping us up in the end but no room for sentiment, has to be replaced next season

I have far more confidence that Wahlstedt will turn good.

Both Wahlstedt and Pears look to be good shot stoppers however both aren't confident in claiming crosses and area that can be worked on in both I think anyone can agree on that

The thing with pears is there's a mistake in him when his confidence dips aswell as not being strong enough in making a save so it goes passed him

We either need a new gk and to ship 1 out or we need to sign a Fadz in the Gk department who could help improve both it all could depend on our budget for the season

Are they even particularly good shot stoppers? They stop some, as any pro goalkeeper would, but they also let plenty of saveable efforts go through them, under them, over them.

Both poor and a new keeper has to be a priority.

If you disagree fine but that's my opinion. Like it or not

What the hell are going on about now?

See, here's my issue. You'd have to be very intellectually challenged to not know what I was going on about. After all I quoted what I was going on about. I mean if that's not a clue...

Similarly you'd have to have been very intellectually challenged not to know what the car analogy was about. After all it was in a thread about Rovers transfers, replying to your post, and the average joe can clock an analogy when they come up.

So either you are very intellectually challenged - in which case I apologise unreservedly and am so, so sorry - or you are deliberately misinterpreting people - which really isn't on. They're the only two options really.

I have no idea why you bothered replying to me if you do is moan and whinge about my post. If they are such a problem just ignore them.

His car analogy was wrong completely by the way.

Good shot stoppers ?

I suggest a browse at a few of the goals that flew straight through Leo.

Lad badly needs a loan out in the rough and tumble of the lower leagues he will not improve sat on the bench here and coming in when needed but making cock up costing goals is no good for us.

However we are now run as a development team trying to stay in the league so those running it don't give a ####.

Hopefully the manager puts his foot down.

Window is a few weeks out, here's what i'd consider a good and semi-realistic window;

IN
John Ruddy - Free
James Hill - 2m (?)
Ben Chrisene - Loan to buy
Yasin Ayari - Loan
Herbie Kane - Free
Siriki Dembele - 1.4m
Josh Bowler - Free
Duncan McGuire - 2.4m
Aaron Connolly - Free

OUT
Gallagher - 1m
Szmodics - 12m
Wahlstedt - Loan
Telalovic - Loan
Garrett - Loan

Seems unlikely they'd spend that much (~6m) atm but if they sell Gally and Szmodics I think it becomes more possible. Some pricey frees in there too I guess, but would massively improve the squad that's for sure.

Would also like to see a better keeper bought, but feels certain that they're getting Ruddy and that's that.

In the LT's overall player ratings average for the season Pears ave is 5.5 and Leo is 4

If that doesn't tell the story i don't know what does it's clear there is a serious issue with the keeper dept that is unlikely to improve to the required standard unless it's strengthened.

A keeper even in a struggling side should be averaging 6.5 to 7.

Even in the Leicester game where he made a great save to keep us in the game and he stood up strong when Carter put Jamie Vardy in with that stupid back header he palmed a very average shot right back into the danger area in the first half. Luckily for us there wasn’t a Leicester player in the centre forward spot to take advantage.
That goes in and that game could have ended differently.
