The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

Recommended Posts

It appears from the interview that Eustace has bought into the Raos/Waggott/Pasha tactic of dumbing down any expectations the supporters might have.

Just what any prospective season ticket buyer wanted to hear.

If we take up the options on Dolan and Gallagher but can't agree fresh terms, then we need to offload them both this summer. Dolan perhaps we can let expire due to his age, as we will get a fee anyway in 12 months time, but Gallagher is sign or go.

Squad needs a serious shake-up. Wonder how long it will take before Szmodics is gone...delay it until late August and then not spend would be classic Rovers.

When Sammie Smzodics leave we will need an open heart surgery to get goal scorers in. If he does not leave the squad still needs an open heart surgery.

The rehash-article from LET is abit lazy click-bait journalism. Those quotes from Eustace are from the post-match interview at the end of the season. I have said it a few times, but LET needs to be much more brave in their reporting and continually ask for interviews with the owners, Waggot et.al.

If there is a DOF incoming, I hope he is a persona that knows what he wants and has high standards.

If a new DOF comes in with high ambitions, he’ll be soon be damped down and basically told to “toe the line”.

The high standards will not be tolerated by our owners.

He’ll be like the rest before him and shipped out soon enough.

Szmodics will be on his own timeline.

He'll be pushing for a move as soon as possible.

Like selling A. Wharton days before the January transfer window slammed shut, they'll be happy to oblige because they'll only be bothered about the money coming in.

Under these owners it’s always going to be a re-building job. Every season we’ll lose players and have to replace them.

We won’t build a team for promotion. They will always sabotage us.

Tony Mowbrays 'journey' was the last chance we'll ever have under this lot of doing anything remotely resembling  trying to assemble a top 6 squad .

Albeit on a limited budget but no forced sales, initial big investment and allowed expansion of the wage bill at times.

Did anyone really expect anything different. Oh yes, a certain poster in here was expecting about 10mil spent. Yeah right!!!🙄

Unless the younger players on the fringes step up and impress during pre season he's wrong

We have 2 players potentially leaving we don't know yet those 2 being Szmodics and Travis

I feel Szmodics will go for the right price and Travis has the potential to stay as I feel he suits how we play under Eustace

If the players on the fringes like Guru, Gent, Batty, Garret, Gilsenan can't step up and improve our 1st team squad then we need major surgery if we're being honest

Let's say Guru, Gent and Gilsenan can step up and impress that saves 1 attacking signing as then we don't need to sign a back up player just Szmodics replacement if he does leave if the other 2 can step up then all we need is a cb regardless of O`Riordan stepping up

But we need 2 in midfield a striker, 2 wingers and a gk

So the squad does need surgery just to improve the match day squad

Does he know what his record was? How many wins was it? We don’t need major surgery???

Joker!!!

That’s just a re-hash of his end of season interview.

I wouldn’t read much into his comment. He’s just backing the current players he’s got and saying only a few areas need improving. He’s probably right. A GK, LB, CB, 3 x attackers would be a reasonable summer as long as those players are first team quality and not like some of the shite we signed last summer.

Eustace has showed he can set the team up to keep clean sheets. If he can get a few quality attackers I’d be fairly confident of having a team that can get results.

The question is whether he’ll get the players he wants.

Imagine three centre backs with Travis and Tronstad in the middle....how on earth are we gonna score?

By having better forwards than we’ve got now. Szmodics was a  1 man band last season.

I think one of the players said that Eustace puts a lot of emphasis on keeping clean sheets. We won’t need to score many to get results. It won’t be pretty under Eustace if the last few months are anything to go by, but it might be effective.

Eustace's comments are over a week old and it's what he said post Leicester game. Depends what he means by areas. It could be as simple as Keeper, defenders and attacking areas.

I still think we only need 7 or 8 players this summer transfer window. We like 3 or 4 in before Pre season stats in mid to late June.

As if we'll get 7 or 8 players. If we do, none will be of any quality. Half will be crap 20 year old premier League players

Nothing new there, he comes out with that line every close season. The manager has done great, we’ve signed some really good players blah, blah, blah. Oh, by the way we just need another 7 or 8 players to have a competitive team.

I see the dumbing down has already begun. "Small tweaks and not major surgery".

Club is an absolute shambles from the very top to the very bottom.

If you don't fine no problem

What makes you think that we will, just out of interest?

I hope we do, but nothing that’s happened in recent times suggests we will make that many signings, nor does the manager himself?

I don’t know why everyone is so pessimistic. In the Chicken Chokers we trust ! If we move quick we may be able to hijack Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid.

Isn’t it time somebody restarted the ” Optimism “ thread ?

What we need in my opinion. Given the players leaving either after their contract ends or loan ends..

Well yeah, I agree we need that at the very least, but that wasn’t my question.

So I’ll ask it again:

What makes you think that we will, just out of interest?

I hope we do, but nothing that’s happened in recent times suggests we will make that many signings, nor does the manager himself?
