Not overly concerned by Gestede saying 2-3 players. I remember Eustace said in the early close season that we didn't need many new recruits, which had us all up in arms for a little while, he's changed his tune now of course.

I suspect he's said 2-3 more players simply because saying 'we want 5 or 6+ more players' increases expectations, which naturally puts us all on a downer if (when) it doesn't happen.

5-6 also makes you sound completely underprepared for the new season, which we are!

It just shows how utterly worthless these comms are. It’s just words.

I think the people who own/run the club should all be accountable to supporters, but they never will be if accountability just means giving the occasional interview where nothing of any importance is said.

Waggott and Gestede will do the same interviews next year, and say the same things.

Whilst I skipped the Waggott video to protect my remaining mental health I've just watched the Gestede one.

He's more camera friendly, good calm voice, wants 3 more players and says "pleased" a lot.

TBF he spoke sense about outgoings loans.

He's got career path, using us for an apprenticeship and will move upwards and therefore away from our circus in due course.

I'll have to be careful as I think he's a believable teller of tall tales unlike the shit eating Maggott.

I suspect there is nothing Waggott would love more this year than to simply scape together enough points to survive, make sure Eustace hangs around so he doesn't have to worry about finding a new manager, and sell Szmodics to make the owners happy, then we can 'go again' next summer on the road to nowhere.

Did you leave out 'and then retire'? 😃

Gestede has also said we want to bring 3 (then he said 2 or 3) players in during the rest of the window.

If that is the case then we are going into the season ill prepared. Eustace has said we are short in net, at full back and in midfield. Plus he also called for a couple of pacy players down the sides. So 2 of those positions we are going to be left well short in.

Theres an easy question for Elliott Jackson and co. You said you were short in these areas yet Gestede and Waggott have mentioned 3 additions. Does this concern you that you will not get the full squad you have asked for?

We have a ridiculously thin squad with no depth and are supposedly relying on our young academy players, but we are then loaning out the better young players and making the squad even thinner!!

I am not against the players going out on loan to make them better, it worked for Scott Wharton and Carter, but they need to be replaced with good buys or loans.

We have a half decent first 11 but after that we are very weak. Injuries are inevitable and we will be in real trouble when that happens, like we were last season. When will SW realise that running a club on a shoe string will only lead to one outcome, one which we only just avoided by the skin of our teeth last season.

We are being run by self serving morons who don’t care about the club as long as they are being paid and padding out their pension pots.

Topi Keskinen is on his way to aberdeen, both us and them bid earlier on in the year so looks like they’ve gone back in with an increased offer…Sad times that we can’t compete with them, especially with all the money brought in.

If we bid earlier on in the year then it was Broughton and his recruitment team.We don't know that park ,Eustace and the rest wanted him?

Not a very inspiring set of squad numbers, particularly in the goalkeeping department. At least there's only two keepers given numbers which hopefully implies we'll be getting someone else in

3 keepers on that list

Would have been an interesting signing for us. Then we could have loaned in another winger. Ffs!

Used to get excited and play the "guess the new squad numbers" game with my sister. Now it's a dull as used bathwater.

Given some of the names given numbers there, a little surprised Aodhan Doherty hasn't been. Considering we brought him in for a fee.

The mystery of Jalil Saadi continues. He gets no squad number after being given a contract deal/extension at the age of 22 years. And the club haven't, as far as I've seen - though may be wrong, even announced he's staying or for how long. That said, all the best to him and hope he has a decent season. Who knows what's going on. Maybe, he'll be the 'experienced' head in the U23s to help the younger players adapt.

A couple of other things jump out to me - the complete lack of pace amongst all the defensive players, excluding Leo Duru. And, no Jordan Eastham which I hope he is finally allowed to properly move on somewhere long-term. In pre-season he's been on the bench for the U23s at times and was left behind during the pre-season Austria programme.

The only thing not mysterious about the Saadi deal, is that he isn't good enough.

Never understood why teams leave it so late.

You're wasting the first 6 weeks of the season getting players signed and bedding them in.

Pears #1, Hilton #13.

Jesus Christ.

It could have been worse, it's probably the only position where we could sell a player, not replace him, yet actually improve the squad.

The window should only be open until the league starts ‘deadline day’ should have been yesterday

They tired that a couple of years ago.  Didn't work as leagues that had a window that closed later started poaching players and teams couldn't replace them

The only way it would even remotely work is if every league in Europe was open and closed at the same time.  But that wouldn't stop Saudi teams etc poaching players
