Maybe right now given how far we’ve dropped, but I can’t help but feel there’s better options out there (we haven’t a single loan in yet for example - what happened to the days of Elliott, Harwood-Bellis, Tosin, Reed etc. )

He's 27 now, only had 2 seasons in the Championship, which were hardly extraordinary, and sulking around at Birmingham now. If we spend money on him and he’s rubbish, his next move is L1 or abroad and we make a loss on what will no doubt be a high waged player.

Elliott - arrived deadline day

Reed - arrived couple of day before deadline day

Harwood Bellis - arrived deadline day

Van Hecke - arrived a couple of days before deadline day

Tosin was signed early, but that seems to be very much the exception for good premier league loans

Agreed, if we’re spending what Demebele is worth (1.5m) then there are easily younger/better prospects out there.

Like many have said, I don’t think we’re spending anything close to the values of Dembele or Baker. I also think there’s more to the Germain story to what we’re being told. MarkBRFC is right we’ve been here before with our squabbling, so I presume it’s another last minute change.

Germain looks decent but you’ve got to remember he’s 29! Where’s the re-sale value? We’ve just brought in a load of older heads, if we’ve pulled the plug on him then this reason then fair play, we need younger blood…But then again why agreed personal terms? Who Fricken knows what’s going on!

The whole Eustace vs the recruitment team is one massive smokescreen, don't fall for it.

Either nothing is happening, or there are deals lined up and venkys won't sign them off.

We have been here before, many times.

Exactly. Convenient this story appears the same day as the Indian court case and with only a few days of the window remaining.

Operation deflect in full swing. Convince them that there's nothing wrong in India and it's all to do with issues at Brockhall.

Seen that one many times before.

Not a chance, he will become the best left back in the world. If he does go out on loan, which seems madness it will be to a top flight club somewhere in England or Spain

Bit of a statement there best left back in the world lol but he certainly won’t be coming to us

At least if we have lined players up, ready to sign and then don’t, we knew all along it was the owners who didn’t press the “send” button and not the fall guy who they blamed.

Good thing is, it will show once again, who the real “shits” are and confirm what we already know.

They and Waggott are just lying to us and taking the piss, more so.

Anyway, when are these protests starting again?

Waggott is running a ship on low fuel and conserving it as much as he can. Keep it steady and don't burn out until the next asset i sold. It's easy to point fingers but look at some of the other clubs that have passed us how well run they are; Ipswich, Brighton and Brentford are three that spring to mind. Look at Ipswich's broadcasts compared to ours with a studio and interviews and how full of energy their home ground was/is. Shouldn't be impossible for us either. I quite like some of the things Rovers publish on X and YouTube, but we probably don't have the budget or staff for it.

Brighton and Brentford have become experts in recruiment and developing players. It's easy to say we want to emulate that, but saying that and wanting that are two different things - we have to reinvest a proper portion of the transfer fees we receive when selling players, and we have to be taken seriously in the market again. There are rumours that some agents hate or don't want to deal with us any longer, and I'm sure that goes for some of the top clubs as well. We're Jekyll & Hyde in that sense and too unpredictable by constantly moving the goal posts.

maggot ain't running or conserving anything ...hes throwing every fucker over board to the sharks before a mutiny arises. Self preservation society is what maggot is looking after whilst collecting the coin

Not to mention he gets in the Argie squad. Almost as good as the Zaïre-Emery suggestion/link last year.

A couple/few years ago, someone suggested Luke Shaw, which may be one of, if not, the most out there suggestion I have seen on here.

Not that we have had much success with loans recently but there seems to be very few deals done this summer across the championship so far in terms of them.

The system seems fundamentally broken where the premier league teams horde all this talent then try and charge us poorer clubs for the privelege of developing their talent and value for them.

I said yesterday morning that if the court case didn't go well, there would be a list of transfer targets out by 6pm.

Oldest trick in Waggots play book.

Absolute piss take that we haven't signed a new No.1 and we are coming to the end of the window. Sticking with Pears for the season is not an option, the bloke is garbage.

Even more ridiculous if the management are arguing over players like John Ruddy.

Here's hoping! And yeah that adds to the point, we have all our loan slots to fill still, so should we be going out spending money on Dembele who arguably wouldn't improve the starting 11 much.

Our CB loan business has been ridiculous when you look at Tosin, Harwood Bellis, Brainthwaite and Van Hecke all played for us (Some more than others), over a small time period.

It's amazing that given the centre backs above and the 20 goals a year we've found out of any one we can that we've never come close to playoffs

We came close once, so everyone at the club decided to alienate the manager that did.

He's honestly incredible, stood out like a sore thumb for Boca as a 16 year old!

His debut for Brighton last year against City, Pep marches over after the game to congratulate him. He's genuinely amazing

Erm, the season before last, when we won away at Millwall on the last day.. we missed out on the playoffs by goal difference..

Not sure Dembele is the answer. Only 1 assist in 33 championship games last season. That's just not good enough at all.

Stansfield, obviously a decent player and would be a good investment, but can't see Fulham letting him go. He scored 12 goals in a relegated Birmingham team and probably would've scored more if they hadn't gone and appointed Rooney and dropped off a cliff. I'd be happy with the signing but just doesn't seem viable given Rovers circumstances.

Ruddy should only be brought in as a last resort IMO. It's an extremely short term solution and if Rovers can bring in someone as a more long term investment then they should be actively pursuing that first.

I still expect a couple of prem loans as is customary for most Championship clubs, but I imagine they'll come very late in the window, possibly deadline day.

Had they lined up Germain deal pre selling Szmodics? Now there’s a bit of a budget they are shopping round for probably younger options ?

Surely there is a clear transfer strategy for each position, options lined up depending on price for each now? Somebody has to step up and make a decision or we risk the window closing with half a squad and money in the bank.
