The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

Don't think JRC will play well in any position at the moment. Needs to assess his decision-making, he'll give the ball away a lot more than Brittain does at RB and Brittain makes his fair share of sloppy mistakes.

ST and another wing needed and I'd say it's a decent window.

If we can bin off Hyam and replace him that would also be a plus.

Are they even still looking at strikers after Gueye and Ohashi?

Good move on Baker, loan and out of contract in summer so if he impresses; a potential permanent deal can be done, if not, we say goodbye. Still annoying we’re not spending money, but a sensible signing.

He’ll know if he doesn’t put a shift in he’ll be on his bike in summer.

Keeper- Toth really poor choice, looks another Whalsted to me, half decent shot stopper, doesn't command area. Will have to hope he's better than he seems

Left back -  Beck, pleased with this one looks decent, quick, coming off another good loan, although appears injury prone

Midfield - Baker, good experience. Living near Stoke had plenty of opinions of him, all a bit mixed but good experienced option who will get plenty of game time for me.

Winger - Cozier-Duberry  no experience at all, a complete wild cars who is highly rated. Looks like he brings some pace that we desperately need

"No 10" - Cantwell seems to be a bonus signing as automatically  thought it was a straight fight between Dolan/Siggy in that role. Talent unquestionable, just depends if he can get that hunger back.

Out of them all, still think it's Cantwell that doesn't get done. Someone will come in for him at the last minute I reckon.

If all that business did happen, we're still a CB and a ST short in my opinion. Mcfadzean and Batth can hardly move, while Gueye and Ohashi I feel will run out of steam by Christmas leaving us with only Leonard in reserve.

Ideally you get Leonard and Vale out and get someone else in similar to Gueye.

What is Baker? CM? Can't say I'd ever even heard about him until we first got linked.

Surely if Stoke are getting rid he must be shite?

Looking at his career just seems like a journeyman.

Baker is box to box midfielder with a eye for a goal.

I'm shocked you haven't heard of him before

Eustace wanted him all summer. Looks like we are getting our man for the space CM spot.

Seeing as we debunked the difference between a ball carrier and a dribbler.

Can anyone clarify the difference between an 8 and a 10 these days.

Asking for someone that grew up with Garner as a 10.

A 10 is a Dack or Szmods

An 8 is a Bohinen or Dunn

The 8 is usually the player not good enough to play as a 10.

JRC has looked ineffective out wide, much better RB.

There's no debate about it for me. Rankin-Costello's best games have, by far, been at right-back or right wing-back. He played consistently excellent there, and it's where he made his breakthrough in the first team after nearly moving on for pastures new.

I wish he'd recognise it, too, because to my mind, he would easily oust Brittain from that spot, and it would be far better for the team as a whole.

Anyway, back to transfers... A loan for Baker would be sensible given his age because there would be little resale value. The only downside would be not being available for the two games against his parent club, but you'd think he'd be fit enough to be involved on Saturday if we get it done.

If you’re looking for a keeper that “ commands his area “ you’ll need a Time Machine first. Set it for about 1975.

An 8 is a more foward thinking CM. Perhaps you'd call the box-to-box midfielder the 8 (Lampard, Gerrard, Dunn), whereas a Tugay/Tronstad type is a 6.

The 10 plays in the gap between the midfield and Forward - Szmodics, Dack, De Bruyne.
