We were meant to have been at that stage 24 hours ago weren't we? An analogy I've used before, but this one is starting to sound like Alan Partridge waiting for Roger Moore to turn up in the studio. Of course it never happened. 1 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 (edited) The summer 2024 transfer window will close on Friday 30 August, at 23:00 BST. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13136308/transfer-window-summer-2024-when-does-it-open-and-close-dates-and-deadline-day-for-premier-league-efl-wsl-and-more Players without a club can be signed at any time, clubs can sign players on loan dependent on their league's regulations, and clubs could sign a goalkeeper on an emergency loan if they had no registered senior goalkeeper available. Admiral Nelsen Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Just now, RevidgeBlue said: Would the other Japanese striker alongside Gueye have been suitable? I think half of our team probably could play that sort of way now. Trav would relish it. Szmodics would've thrived too. A lot of it is about mindset as much as how you set up. Similarly to how that Mark Hughes team was such a nightmare to play against. Quote

Angry_Pirate Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 (edited) Certainly refreshing to see outgoing loans to football league and SPL clubs. O'Riordan, Markanday, Batty, Vale, Garrett and Gamble will all get move value this season playing more first team football than being 20-25 in our squad. Would probably move Gilsenan and Leonard if they were fit, and also Hilton if we get Tóth through. Loan out you fringe players to loan in theoretically better fringe players is the model. BankEnd Rover Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Hopefully Vale kicks on and Motherwell buy him next season. Will we see a replacement? Will Ryo be coming in? Quote
SuperBrfc Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Meanwhile, over in India, Pune residence hears the name 'Cantwell' for the first time: "Cantwell? Isn't that a cake in England? How many cakes is Steve wanting?" "No, that's a bakewell you're thinking of, Mrs Desai. Cantwell is a footballer according to Google". "Oh, ok. Tell Steve I'll get back to him on Saturday". They probably haven't got a clue who Cantwell is and whether he is any good or not and will be relying on somebody to sell it to them. If that somebody is shadow man or his car salesman buddy, then I think we can move on. Just get it done! A player of his quality doesn't become available for £500k very often. It's a no brainer. Lewis Baker was highly rated as a Chelsea youngster, but doesn't seem to have done a lot since. Not seen much of him at Stoke, so will have to wait and see what he looks like here. Tomorrow is going to be interesting to say the least. Can Park and Co pull out a couple of left field signings that nobody has mentioned? 2 Quote

Forever Blue Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 (edited) Who are the ESC spots taken up by? Ohashi, Siggy and Mofoumbi? Which means there’s 1 spare. Does this new GK qualify without using an ESC spot? Edited August 29, 2024 by Forever Blue Quote

Like many, I still don’t think it’s going to happen! Either way we will know tomorrow, because he has to move, whether its us or another club. I cant see it happening either. Quote
