The one  thing holding the deal up is Hilton already registered as number 13 and Todd Cantwell refuses to wear another number. We have to send in a request for change to the EFL and get that approved before Cantwell accepts Rovers deal.

Admin to complete and submit to the EFL? What could possibly go wrong…….

Baker has been in Stoke's first team and scored the winner in opening day. What's the reasoning behind it from their perspective? Need him off the eage books?

Surplus to requirements, Schumacher has never fancied him really, doesn't fit his high-intensity style of play. He has good touch and showed a lot of promise as a youngster but at this stage of his career he's a bog-standard plodder and really won't be missed. He will score you the odd banger though.

Some Coventry fans think Cantwell is going to them.

To be fair, they don't. It's just one poster and they're all pretty much laughing at the suggestion.

Agree with this he doesn’t fit the high press profile that Schumacher likes

theres a decent player in there if he can be kept off the injury table

Baker will be an extra body for the midfield and will do a job with/instead of Tronstad and Travis.

Happy enough with that.

Hopefully a few more to follow...

Solid penalty and FK taker. Only one goal from open play from inside the box, the other 10 from outside the box.

I think he might actually displace Trav quite quickly (and he’s captain material too).

Doesn't score many but when he does they seem to be absolute crackers.

Yup, no real investment in the team as we expected.

No young talent purchased to develop etc.

Exactly.

We have brought in experienced players, and that's definitely something the club needed, not questioning that. But it's almost all we've done, in a year we brought in 40 million in sales (and allegedly have no impediments to funding the club, but they're clearly not putting anything in). I'm happy with most of the signings so far, think the recruitment team have boxed clever with them to a degree given the scandalously shit budget they've been given, but where is the next development for a big sale coming from to keep us funded at even this bollocks level?

Mafoumbi seems like the closest thing to that, but he's not pulling up trees so far even at youth level. Hoth is a decent enough age, but keepers at this level don't net big fees even if he turns out ace, hell we sold someone as good as Kaminski for 2.5 mill. The only other one with a potential for very high resale would be Gueye at 26, and whilst I like him and think he will be a very useful asset for us, I don't see that turning into an 8 mill plus sale, as I think he'll be a menace at this level but not prolific enough for those numbers.

I understand the recruitment team have their hands tied and we have probably chosen to bring experience to ensure we stay up, but the longer term strategy doesn't seem to be here. God we need rid of Venkys!

One of my favourite ever Stoke midfielders 🤩
..and Lewis Baker

Honest opinion what’s he like? Scored the winner on the opening day for you?

I hope this isn’t pay back for Tre Pemberton, Ennis and Gallagher 😂
