Didn't you previously say that the DOF/head coach set up was a 'proper football structure' ? That ended well!

What makes you think, that under these owners and administrators, any structure would work?

In 2 years time, we'll be back to square 1. Again.

I actually dread to think where will be in 2 years time to be honest.

I think the club is in serious trouble right now and will be very surprised if something major doesn't happen between now and Christmas, that put's the very future of BRFC in jeopardy.

If it is going to happen, just bring it on now...so we can face it head on and start to rebuild.

Agreed.

If I could have a look 2 years into the future, I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see us struggling in League One.

Its called having a proper sporting structure. Most clubs have this kind of structure in place at football club

More like we have split the role into 2 now. A guy for transfer and recruitment then one like Technical head of football

It wont be a proper sporting structure here under Venkys and im surprised you havent learnt by now.

When having head of recruitment and head of technical it is imperative that they get financial backing from owners. Otherwise their roles are next to obsolete, with few exceptions

Or at least given the authority to make strategic decisions, in collaboration with a competent, industrious CEO.

Think this is now all getting rather silly.

Currently we have:

Head Coach: John Eustace
Assistant Head Coaches: Matt Gardiner and Keith Downing
First Team Coach: David Lowe
Goalkeeping Coach: Ben Benson
First Team Technical Coach & Head of Player Development: Damien Johnson
Head of Player Recruitment: Sean Kimberley

So that is 6 coaches for the first team!

Supposedly, we are now looking at:

A Head of Recruitment/Transfers (wtf does Kimberley do?)

A 'Technical Director' (doesn't Damien Johnson do this?)

Is this not simply replacing Broughton with two others?

All this flies in the face of muted draconian cost cutting.

For a club of our size and ambition and losing some £20million per season, I think we are grossly overstaffed.

A lean machine?  You are having a larf.  IMO, far too many on the gravy train which seems to be heading for derailment should all this nonsense continue.

We will soon have a bigger backroom staff than first team squad!

Why does Lowe always survive any change to the set up?

What does he know and does he prefer keeping his increasingly unnecessary job to signing a NDA?

Sounds like Waggott signing up a few of his mates while acting as their agent. Watch John Fleck get a contract extension too!

Taking advantage of his new position of power before the house of cards eventually tumbles.

Keep the numbers high, so that those taking their cut under the radar, can remain there secretly taking their.

three roles?

why is waste of money putting in a proper football structure into the club and not a manager and CEO? very few clubs run that way for good reasons nowadays

Because under these owners in it impossible to get a proper football structure in place. It is like rearranging the deck chairs on The Titanic.

This is silly Mercer.  I'm sure other clubs are better staffed in these roles.

Yeh I'm pretty sure that's a fairly normal number of coaches.

Even I don't have a Technical Director in Football Manager. I'm not a savage.

Rovers have one on there

Its a similar setup but GB former role is split into two with one person focusing on recruitments, contracts and transfers whilst other focus on the technical side of the role and academy

We have different roles for staff. Most clubs at this level have massive first team staff including performance analysis and scouting/recruitment staff

On Lowe, Its a very good question

Our own website has a 'staff' section for the first team...it just has John Eustace 🤣 Christ we are bad at maintaining the website.

much bigger than that

Are they quietly beginning to exit stage left hidden behind the veil of investigations, fund freezes and Indian Tax laws ?

Could we be in for a few years of cranked up managed downscale whilst they slowly sever ties i wonder. Wouldn't be surprised to wake up one morning in a couple of seasons time to see ownership has been transferred on Companies House from VLL to some new set up holding company with unknown Indian names and Big Barry.

Just seen that Rangers are looking at bringing in a new Keeper. Would Eustace have worked with Butland at Birmingham? He’s still under contract so it may be a non starter but could be a better option than Ruddy.

Your having a laugh surely? He is their player of the season, will be wanting serious money to part with him
