Has anyone seen them both in the same room at the same time??? Makes you think…

never met Nicko in my life pal.

Nicko used to be a big poster on here and used to do podcasts for BRFCS with a couple of members on here

I agree we need experience but we also need to sign younger players plus bring through two or 3 of our under 21's who are ready for first team

His first choice for keeper signing and getting it done and dust early in the summer.

I don't know if Ruddy has had poor season or not, or whether he would be good signing or poor signing

Is he Eustace's first choice? How could you possibly know that?

(A concern if he is, because that would mean he has questionable judgement and would signify another minimal budget)

Cos we have to used what we know and what the media is reporting. I could turn it around on you an asked you similar questions but I won't.

Eustace and Rovers have to manage whatever we have budget. Its could be zero transfer budget or few millions pounds budget(we simply don't know at this stage) but we need a goalscoring number 9, keeper, right winger plus others positions/replacements for players who might leave so your budget need to cover all of those signings.

None of this remotely proves that Ruddy is the number one target. Not even close.

I think IF they agree/ sign before the window even opens, it’s safe to say that Ruddy was the no.1 choice goalkeeper, or at least VERY high on the list.

I think he’d be a good signing for a season to get Leo up to speed. Maybe a loan?

But the point is, we only have the rumour from a hack which was subsequently then denied by the local media that he is even a player of interest, never mind first choice.

Im not convinced that Wahlstedt will ever get "up to speed" but we just need a good Championship goalkeeper. Im not convinced that Ruddy is that anymore.

Park left Rangers dec 23 and joined Mowbray at Brum in Jan 24 as head of overseas scouting. He may well be available now Mowbray has left.

So another lazy jobs for the boys appointment then.

I’m still arguing for Mathew Ryan over John Ruddy.

Either way, if we don't sign a proper number 1 then we may as well not bother playing this season at all and just start next year in League One.

Where were local media exclusive on Silvester leaving and Baker replacing him or GB being sack and close replace?

Why would the club confirm that Ruddy is a target to the local media?

My point is, we dont know that Ruddy is first choice. We wouldnt even if one journalist specifically said that, but as far as I am aware, he didnt.

Has he left his current club?

I believe he’s out of contract this summer, and not heard about him signing elsewhere.

82 caps, Aussie captain, played in the last three WCs. Possibly out of our league but we need some ambition. Seems to be club-hopping season by season since Brighton, but getting at least one clean sheet in 3 everywhere he goes.

Ok let’s get some clarity - Nicko is a bellend. He banned me on Twitter years ago when I proved he was chatting shit about Jordan Rhodes, but whatever…. His ‘information’ has been up and down for years but truth be told, in our current (rather ugly) guise, where very little actually does get out, he is the most accurate ‘old hack’ out there. His record in the last 12-18 months is better than anyone’s for breaking stories and he 100% knows / reports more breaking stories than the local outlets.

But even he as far as I am aware hasnt said Ruddy is number 1 choice.

Nicko news is Rovers want Palace winger Republic of Ireland right winger Franco Umeh-Chibueze on loan. Some of our under 21's regulars might remember him scoring 2 goals against us at Brockhall for Palace.

Also Manchester United want to sign Blackburn Rovers England youth striker Igor Tyjon. Also says he wants to play first team football first(I take this is the very positive news)

How do you know he isn't first choice then?

very very rarely do our local media break any king of exclusive. Last one was Eustace. Nicko broke the 3 recent Rovers stories which have all been right with Silvester sacked, Baker in as replacement and GB sack.

Franco Umeh-Chibueze is very highly rated in Ireland. I presume that's a loan Chaddy?

Exciting player. Another decent player would be Bosun Lawal at Celtic. Both would bring a bit of pace and power to our side. Very good technically as well.

Lawal can play centre half or DM.

The other story on us is that Utd want to sign Igor Tyjon who is a highly rated player coming up through the academy

From the hype around him if we keep hold of him and he can actually make the adjustment and step up to the physicality of the championship he'll be an option up front in a few years

The minute he’s played a handful of games and even looks half decent he’ll be gone.  See Phillips. The way the game has developed over the last few years most Premier League clubs can afford to risk low number £millions on a gamble.
