Birmingham have taken 7 points from the last five games. We have taken four. They have lost two we have lost one. Setting out to not lose is a losers outlook. 2 Quote

For me, despite the poor form from December, JDT was the answer. He and his ambition scared the hell out of Swag and the other idiots behind the scenes at Ewood. If they had backed him last year we would have at least made the play offs and if they had backed him in the summer with a reasonable transfer kitty and salary budget, he would have taken us close again. They tried to crush his ambition and infectious enthusiasm and it became untenable for him and with him leaving, I really do worry about the future of our once great club. Scandalous. 19 Quote

Paul Mellelieu Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Great piece Rich, not least regarding the manager. The debacle in January was the defining episode for this season though: sell you best player, loan your captain and lose your manager under comical circumstances, and then bugger up (again) your signings. Nearly killed us. 2 Quote

Darwen Rover 007 Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 (edited) Personally gutted Gregg has gone, I think if JDT and this guy had been backed just a little bit more we would had something.. big opportunity missed for me. Edited May 14, 2024 by Darwen Rover 007 5 Quote

KentExile Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 (edited) Is it possible to check this with Rich Sharpe? "Three of the new recruits have signed deals until the end of the season, joining Hyam*, Dolan, Hedges*, Markanday*, Sigurdsson, Gilsenan* as out of contract in 2025 (*known options)." He seems to be stating that Hyam has an option (unless I am reading this wrong). Not seen the club mention anything about this previously, and they do not normally neglect to include mention of such clauses, but guess that Sharpe may have heard something from the player/club at some point https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/august/28/dom-deal-done-/ Edited August 11, 2024 by KentExile 1 Quote
