v Ipswich Town (h) - Good Friday, 29/3/24, 17:30

Kaminski deserved his opportunity. Failure to bring in an experience Championship keeper was a fatal error.

The poor recruitment is due to desperately trying to juggle next to no funds around, again you need look no further than the owners.

Experience comes with higher wages and we cut it (along with player funds) so went abroad, lower wages higher risk. You reap what you sow.

Venky's are parasites. The staff have largely been working with their hands tied.

That was another aspect of the Broughton interview that annoyed me. He said that Palace met their valuation of Adam. However that didn't mean we had to sell him but they got him on the first train to London the following day. There was no clause about clubs meeting a certain fee, it was Rovers and Rovers alone who decided to sell him. And right now that looks like a decision that will pretty much cancel out the fee given what the cost of relegation will be.

Venkys needed the cash, got an offer and that was it.

No thoughts of his future value or his current value as a player in a squad threatened with relegation.

Just the cash. I loved the lad but sad to say he’s better off away from here.

Not in agreement with the comments saying we played well today.

I thought Ipswich were average at best and they had an off day. They looked shaky at the back and uncomfortable trying to pass out of defence. But we didn't do anything to capitalise. A bit more fight and endeavour, more pressing and more physicality could have seen us win but it never materialised. We created very little indeed.

We had the disallowed goal but we were lucky with the penalty that was not given - so that evens out.

Neither team played well but Ipswich did just enough and we didn't. If we continue to play to that standard for the remaining games we will be very lucky not to be relegated.

Extended EFL highlights.

Sammie was offside, very near the keeper and jumped to avoid the shot which hit the foot of an Ipswich player on the way in goal.

Sammies presence and jump must have impacted on the keepers eye sight.

Pears clanger from other angles look even worse than I thought.

The ruling on Wharton was harsh but correct.

We have to rely on 3 teams still below us not getting 4 more points than us.

We probably have the hardest run in.

The SW game will be significant, putting it mildly.

But we have the points already so it's on us if we FU.

That's the only positive I take from this sorry chapter in our history.

It was eventful if nothing else.    A game of two halves if you will, goals disallowed, penalties not awarded, and in the middle of it, a referee many would argue more amateur than Premier League standard.    This was a vital game for both teams, fighting for two different causes, but with a different, more competent game official, this would have been more of a contest.      We've been done over by refs more than a few occasions this season and at the time we felt hate and dismay for any wrongful decisions but you have to remember it just about applies to all and any teams wherever you find them.     Referees are not infallible, they make errors and poor judgements.     Unfortunately every now and again you get a game or instance where such incompetence or mistake made occurs more often by the one individual over the course of the game.

Enough about referees, fact is we won the game and by the end of it were fortunate to take three points back.    We played well in parts, lost focus after the break and were clearly second-best for a while.     Some Town fans or neutrals - Norwich included - will always argue we're hitting above our weight this season and to a point they're right.    No one at Portman Road back in August would have expected this club name to be top of the league by end of March and on the verge of successive promotions but we've done it by way of having efficient players in most areas of the pitch, consistency, and Yes of course, some good fortune along the way.     I think after 22 years away from the top league of English Football the fans deserve this opportunity / were given something back.

You won't get relegated, teams like Blackburn Rovers don't belong in the third tier of the leagues, and there's real strugglers below you that just don't possess the ability or players to save themselves so you'll be safe for another season.    Maybe by August we'll both still be Championship club names.     By that I mean although we had some very positive scores earlier with Leeds and Leicester dropping points and we're Number 1 position right now the season still has a course to run and we could still very easily finish outside the automatic places.    But don't quote me on that.

Amidst the talk about our disallowed goals and how hard done by we were. This hasnt been mentioned much.

Just like no-one has mentioned their RW taking out Pickering for a blatant penalty in the second half (just before he was substituted for Carter).

Whether or not we go down this year, we'll be relegated next year.

Those in control of the club have done this deliberately. At the end of last season we needed two or three decent players and we'd have been challenging the top six. Instead they have slashed the budget, sabotage any decent incoming transfers, sold off our best players reinvesting absolutely nothing, gotten rid of a good manager and employed a dolloper to replace him.

They have deliberately done everything they can to relegate the club and it isn't the first time they've done this.

Good luck to you, having a club run properly is something to be proud of whether you go up or not.

Mowbray left a squad which finished 8th then 7th,a platform on which to build.

it's the subsequent disastrous transfer dealings, or lack of, which has done the damage, you only have to look at the quality of loan players under Broughton and Tomasson.

There's double the number of "recruitment" staff, yet they're not a patch on the previous lot

They're not a 'patch' on the previous lot because they're simply not allowed to spend any money.

We're £23m in the black in transfers this season and have cut our wage bill by 20%. We cut it the previous season too.

It's a L1 budget now.

Agreed. People are looking far too hard every week to blame officials for the slightest thing every week to cover our own shortcomings. Thought the decisions tonight were relatively marginal. Sometimes they get given sometimes they don't but if the boot was on the other foot you'd want the officials to make the same calls.

Sadly they never make those calls in our favour - hence blaming the officials.

We're tighter at the back but we still concede every game. Yeah, you try and figure that one out.

At least the soft lads don't have someone demanding more from them anymore.

The whole club is fucking pathetic. From the owners to the supposed senior management to the weak as piss soft cunt players to the so-called fans who remain silent whilst this all goes on.

What's the point in having a temper tantrum about the owners in the stands?

They literally do not give one single fuck about our opinions and we're powerless to force a change in ownership. They've shown that over the last 13 years - they bizarrely keep pumping money in (until this latest tax fraud case) so won't run foul of the regulators and can continue to destroy our once great club at their leisure.

Protest, get the game disrupted or abandoned and it shines the spotlight on their ugly cowardly faces.

The one thing they absolutely do not want is attention so it should be the duty of every fan to keep them in the spotlight with the world media going over them with a microscope.

Or just carry on doing absolutely fuck all because that's worked so well for the last seven years.

With the vast majority of players L1 standard and below .

There's only place , we can go and that's down !

Nothing will be done. The same old. We complain on here, yet nothing happens.

Supporters are just fed up with it all. We seem to be not be interested in our club going to the wall.

Some might say we deserve what we get. Other supporters fight for their club.

Yet, what are our lot (really) doing?

We are pretty much rolling over and letting all who are destroying our great club ‘tickle’ our bellies.

Let that sink in…

What a shit show.

Absolutely Den. My point was about silver tongue Broughton insulting our intelligence with his 'met our valuation' crap. He was always going to go at some point but the owners nefarious business dealings meant we sold him at the first opportunity. And it could be argued that selling our most creative player was a huge nail in the relegation coffin.

I have a soft spot for Town having lived there for 5 years but I don’t think you will make it, you looked a very poor side yesterday. Aside from Pears chucking one in, you created next to nothing and were wasting time from that moment onwards. We deserved more but once again got nothing from the officials.

The positive for Town is that when you find yourself still in the Championship next season, you have everything now in place to move on and progress. Forget the onfield results, what we would give to just be a proper, competent, professional football club again worthy of the history and name of Blackburn Rovers.

What a shit show.

The problem with this fanbase is that a good number of them still don’t particularly have much of an issue with the owners at all, so it’s not a case of fans having no balls for the fight to oust them -  they don’t even think we are in a fight.

All that is going to happen is yet more fans will walk away this summer, and a certain family will still be in situ.
