In two minds about getting one with living in Carlisle and I’ll miss midweek games and anything daft they do regarding weekend kick off times as I rely on the train.

Am I right thinking if I get one on finance over 8 months this will be the cost;

JW Outer - £387

Fee of 9.88% -  £38.23

Total Cost - £425.23

Payment 1 - £38.23 + £48.37 = £86.60

7 Monthly Payments - £48.37

Thanks in advance.

I suppose that's the biggest thing with all those extra sky games now. They'll just rearrange whatever they want whenever they want to suit their schedule and they don't give a single fuck about the fans.

No fixture will be set so travelling from Carlisle will be a ball ache I reckon.

It's amazing how little consideration the fans get.

I was in the Shearer lounge last season and must say, it was an excellent experience.

We had our own private waiter who was lovely. Drinks all included. In addition, we received a 9 course meal of which every single one was a delight. Excellent view of the pitch from inside too. The interior was very smartly decorated and comfortable for all in there. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going again next season.

I’ll take you word for it and retract my comment - maybe they just need better pictures!

Aye I’ve not had for one years, mainly due to that. I’m actually quite pleased that I’ll know the set dates and times up to January by the time the season kicks off this time (one positive of the new deal) so at least I can plan  ahead. Final few months will be a nightmare as usual though with 3/4 weeks notice and that’s without the trains being a complete mess as well! 12:30 Saturday is great for me personally but the Sunday midday ones, Saturday teatime or any night games mean I need to stop over.

That's the biggest issue I can see is the inconvenient times.

The second tier is hardly a huge draw for viewers so our games will be shoved on at all sorts of shit times.

3-4 weeks is borderline ok for a notice period but will it balance out the inconvenient times the games will be moved to?

It's just shit from all involved, sky, the clubs, the league. None of them have considered the fans in any of this despite us being the lifeblood of the game.

It’s just normal now it’s never going to change. League 1 and 2 fans will find out what it’s like now a little bit through the new tv deal, many will know nothing other than Saturday 3pm kick offs on a weekend!

It’s a £20m turnover business that is running on £20m losses. Turnover is irrelevant.

A £10 surcharge for someone unwilling or unable to complete a form online is more than reasonable. I find it quite staggering you don’t in the current era.

It has nothing to do with being a community club. It’s about being a digital club. I am sure the club will have invested heavily in the technology to enable this, so now it’s the perfect opportunity to cash in on that investment by incentivising STH’s to renew online for a £10 saving. Great business decision.

Two points I would make:

1.  If people don't have IT access - and I know it's hard for you to understand but I have several friends who don't have a smart phone, laptop, etc - they are FORCED to pay £10 more.

2. If we are a digital club why were season ticket holders, at the the last Under-21 game at Ewood, refused entry until they went back to the club shop to be given a PAPER ticket.  Not quite so digital it seems.

I will choose to pay the £10 to get my ticket in the club shop because I refuse to be railroaded into this non-personal system.  It's why I never use self-service and make stores open up a till - which, surprisingly, they quickly do when faced with losing a customer.

Staggering contempt being displayed for elderly people who struggle with IT. My dad is well into his 80s and if I wasnt around he’d be forced into paying £10 extra because he can’t cope with computers.

I wonder if it is standard practice across the 92 to charge someone extra to support their club?

Is it just me reading too much into it, or does the pic & headline on the Rovers website look a bit of a dig at the fans?:

'We've reduced the prices so shut the f*ck up!'

As I said, might just be me reading too much into it but there's plenty of the 'Sammie Salute' pictures they could've chosen instead.

I see there are 3 phases now.

Phase 1 - Early Bird

Phase 2- Buy one before Sky announce how many fixtures are being moved.

Phase 3- The cat's out the bag now. Might as well screw anyone else that hasn't bought yet.

A step in the right direction - really?

IMO, a dog's breakfast which will do very little to either consolidate existing levels of season ticket holders or attract new season ticket holders given last season's horrors and the fact we can all see some 50% of all games now sat in comfort at home without having to contend with unfamiliar match days and kick-off times.

Jackson's LT article "It's understood that, in response to the new Sky Sports TV deal with the EFL, the board have invested £500K and potentially up to £1million of that revenue to reduce the cost of Season Tickets".  IMO, that is bollocks - quite simply, if the club had reduced prices by £100/season ticket, it would have cost circa £900k; I would love to see the assumptions and numbers behind Jackson's understanding - think the 'real' cost will be well shy of £500k.

Phase 1, phase 2, phase 3 are all feckin nonsense and unnecessarily unwieldy.

Phase 1 (to 22 June) - think Rovers are trying to max out before the fans realise Sammy will be sold and our signings will very likely be frees and loans?

Phase 2 (to 22 July) - just what is the point?

Phase 3 - kicks in when Rovers could have done some quality transfer business (I know that's wishful thinking), however, any season ticket waverers (existing or new) including those who wanted to wait and see what our team might look like for the new season would then be faced with paying an extra 25% to 30% more than someone who bought a ticket just 30 days earlier - that is utter madness and wont work.

Just to put all the phase 1, 2 & 3 stuff into context, if Rovers sold season tickets to the value of £3million on 1 August as opposed to £3million on 1 June, the working capital cost would be about £40k at 3% over base - this is at the extreme end of things and chicken shit in the scheme of things.

The booking fees are also a nonsense.  A fan who wants to buy a season ticket should be able to do so how they wish and not be charged either £2 or £10 - it's, again, chicken shit in the overall scheme of season tickets and more and more fans will feel peeved for the sake of some £40/50k.

In conclusion and IMO, it's a 'con' (perhaps just 10% to 15% of the new Sky TV monies being 'invested' in the supporters) with the odd gimmick used to try and mask the paucity of an unimaginative offer relative to the horrors of last season and the ready availability of Rovers games on Sky tv next season.  I think Rovers will be fortunate to retain 75% of existing season ticket holders.

They loyalty scheme is also a crock of shit. More points for a women's game than Plymouth, Cardiff or Sunderland away? Really?
I've been a member of the England Travel Club for roughly 10 years and women's games aren't even considered as part of it.

Just to add, I am well in favour of growing the women's game, but this feels like the club forcing people into spending money for the sake of "loyalty" points.

Reading up on this loyalty scheme and as a new buyer with under 50 points from 23/24, who may well miss 6/7 home matches (or more based on tv) it’s pretty pointless me buying a season ticket really. Miles behind for low allocation away matches in points table and they say it resets end of 24/25. I can’t complain as my attendance has been poor for a while. I would like to have got one again but it seems a bit daft to all in all.

ESTC resets after every major tournament and goes to "total caps" and "active caps". So for example if England are drawn with Gibraltar in the next qualification period, the first game being away, the "active caps" for everyone is 0, I believe in this instance they'd use the "total caps" to determine who's getting what in terms of tickets - I'd expect Rovers to use a similar setup should it be required.

But giving 10/20k a week to someone like Fleck makes sense i suppose because the suits are doing someone a favour.

I don't see anything reasonable at all in me driving past Ewood and deciding to walk up to the counter where a member of staff is already serving and bleeping my card to spend 400 quid on a season ticket but being charged an extra tenner just because i had the nerve to walk in the shop and not sit in my car pressing my phone screen for ten mins to do the same transaction.

You have a warped, some would say corporate, sense of reality.

So the priority is to be a digital club first and foremost in a town like Blackburn just to allegedly save a few quid and put a few more staff out of work. All whilst spending a fortune anyway to implement the said structure, update it regularly, maintain it and pay the repair bill every time it crashes alongside the temp loss of business that causes.

But it's ok it actually might pay for itself in a decades time.

I am in it myself mate. I know what you mean, I’d be surprised if it just went to 0 at the end of each 2 year period, which does make me think I should make an effort to buy one really to get on the ladder again.

That what you say about women’s matches and points, I’m sure Rangers do something similar and they also award points for going on matchday tours etc… basically anything where they can make a few quid out of folk wanting to move up the ladder.

These prices wont move the dial even though any decrease in price is welcome and will considering the stupid amount of moved games, the last season and the current state of the club will still lead to almost certainly reduced numbers.

There are always various complications too, notably the surcharge when you dont buy online and this ballot thing.

We weren't ever going to get prices of £250 ST this season. @Miller11 said this a few weeks ago but we get decrease in the overall cost.

Are you going to renew or not?

what do you think of loyalty scheme? I like it as it rewards people who go regular and gives them priority which I think it is right

Conflicted as to get one or not, really only got till 22nd June to decide because no way I will pay the uplifted prices which is a total joke.

My issue is that as yet we have no statement or plan from the club about what next season entails. If they were to commit to spending some money and get a player or two in before the 22nd I would probably renew.

As it stands it could be an even worse season than last (6 home wins was it?) without Sammy, Dolan or Gallagher. Replaced by some 35yr old freebies and children on loan from Brighton. No thanks.
