We'd have shifted a fair few this time last year if anyone down there had the brain power to put them up for sale at a decent price.

Yep most optimism around the place for years this time last year, if they had priced them at £299 a year ago we would easily have hit Preston's numbers.

This time last year, @goozburger had estimated we had sold 8100 season tickets.  You won't hear Rovers social media shouting that stat out.

Yes the early bird had just ended, but that means we've around 3000 to sell in 10 days to match last year.

Both figures are totally pathetic.

The decline in gates didn't just happen overnight, on the flipside they've done so much damage now they wouldn't be recoverable overnight.

You will still have people 'boycotting' but they'll still watch some games on TV and if they ask themselves "am I missing much?"......with what was being served up last season the answer will undoubtedly be a fat NO.

And there’s the “ typical Rovers “ element of it were anytime we do manage to get a decent gate we play like drains. The guys you’ve dragged along to see a good game just turn around and say” I not paying good money to watch this shite again.”

That happens soooo many times.

Were those in charge really that naive that they thought a slight price reduction would have the punters flooding back after the horrors of last season?...if we even manage to equal last seasons sales I will be astonished tbh.

Preston and Bolton have ended the myth.

They can offer nothing Rovers can't offer. Same or lower level of product. Similar status, geography and demographics (though the usual mob are now trying to rewrite history on that front).

What we are overlooking here is the other side to the coin other than price.

Product.

At Rovers it is shite and has been for a while. Last season well and truly took the biscuit yet the attitude seems to be that everyone will just forgive and forget because it's a new season. I won't and know others won't.

Call it a boycott or just being totally fed up with being treated with contempt by a parasite like Waggott and his Indian bosses, result is people won't buy.

Compare to other clubs where there is a serious effort to fill the ground, where fans are treated with a drop of respect, and there's your difference

Owners who try, communicate, attend.

People who can be trusted, not the disgraceful people in the Ewood directors box.

Still waiting for Steve's analysis and explanation for last season's debacle or indeed any kind of plan for the future. Maybe what efforts he and other staff he directs have made beyond twitter/website adverts.

Approached any lapsed ST holders directly?

Approached clubs, neighbourhoods, new groups?

We won't get anything until he's comfortable and the in house media team ask some easy questions.

Most of us can see straight through it because we know what sort of people we are dealing with here. Other clubs fans can see owners and staff who actually want to do something in this sport beyond just existing and ticking boxes.

This accounts for your 6000 deficit, together with prices.

Totally agree, even though last season was complete shite on and off the field I still want to go as its part of my social life and something I have done for the last 30 years.

But there comes a point where you feel like enough is enough and this court case/endless sales/staff exits/lack of investement is the final straw for me. I feel like the club is taking complete advantage of our fans currently with the lies they are coming out with.

If someone in the club be it Waggot or Venkys came out and actually explained what is going on and what the future looks like in terms of a plan/investment etc. I would probably buy one.

The radio silence just makes me feel I am right that next year involves selling our best players over the summer and seeing a team of u23, loans and free transfer lads getting beat every week.

That is unacceptable and a level of ambition that should never be seen at Blackburn Rovers.

Be nice if they extended the early bird deal for another month considering they only gave folk one pay day to get them sorted.

I don't want to hear about "8/9 month finance" options either due to the ridiculous arrangement fee they charge.

We aren't getting as many as last season.

I think more people have now seen through the bluster and down right lies that are coming out of the club.

This coming season has DISASTER written all over it and given it is self- inflicted, it is not great surprise that the figures are at the current level.

Obviously not a Rovers invention, but early bird what a load of BS. One price until they go off sale and market the feck out of them, pretty simple really.

Here, a few social media posts and that's that before they whack them up 80 quid.

You need to get the next generation going also and interest in Rovers.

You do but my point comes back to the main thing being adult prices. An adult will be paying for the child, yet it likely would be their own adult ticket that is too expensive, not the childs.

You suggested much more aggressive cuts in price before they were announced so im surprised you are not a bit disappointed at only a £30 cut.

Didn't they do that last season ? No reason not too this season as well if sales are going fairly well

I dont think they will have any other choice when they shift around 6,500...they will be shitting themselves.

I think they did, but they also gave themselves more time last season by getting them on sale more than two months earlier than this.

I'd like to think it will happen but won't hold my breath.

I think i've just discovered something that completely sums up the useless shower at our place.

1) I googled "Blackburn Rovers Season Tickets"

2) Top suggestion 2023-24 Season Tickets

3) Click in link and still links correctly to last seasons tickets, details, prices with the url https://www.rovers.co.uk/tickets/season-tickets/

I assume we have no SEO specialists in our ranks, but even just keeping the website in order is falling in the muck.

I honestly haven't checked, how much is it for a family of 4 to buy season tickets at Preston and Rovers?

There are small differences in age brackets so it's hard for a direct comparison. a few differences in the image below.

The short of it is.....If you're an Adult or aged 0-10 or 18 years old then you're getting a cracking deal at PNE.....if you're a Senior, aged 19-22 or 11-17 then you're getting stung a bit at PNE.

e.g. 2 adults with 2 0-10 year olds is £156 cheaper at PNE than Rovers but if you're 1 Senior, 1 Adult, 1 12-17 Year old then you're paying £167 more at PNE.

Disclaimer: these are early bird prices, not sure if PNE prices go up too.

Early bird should be on sale from January or February until April or May.

Then standard pricing after that running through the summer.

We can't do that because we are always late putting them on sale, so try to squash an early bird period into a few weeks between late May and late June.

Talking of marketing, I contacted the club about 12 months ago and asked to be put on their email distribution list for all marketing/promotional communications. I got an email from the club saying thanks for my interest and that I would get all comms and offers going forward.

Guess what, I've received nothing at all.

I wouldn't buy a season ticket anyway, but they could at least try and persuade me!

Ta, it's an interesting comparison, although with little uns at Rovers still only costing £23,it does look on the whole like  they've looked after the youth.

I suggested the price I did for Roves fans who are struggling financial and to increase the attendance every game.

From my own point of view The price is more than affordable for me.

I have noticed that you have ignore my simple question I have asked 3 times, so I will take it you haven't renew and aren't for your own reasons

Not specific to anyone. Do you think the prices are suitable in general (considering you cheerleaded for much lower prices) or do you think they are too high?

(Not for you, in general, I know you find it ok individually)

IMO, until the focus is specifically on reducing adult prices, whatever is tried is not going to make much difference.

For some people it will be expensive and for some it was fair and reasonable price.

Having success on the pitch would also help here.
