Penwortham Blue
Strewth, from the power house of Hibernian FC and Scottish pub football 🙈 No doubt been fully briefed by the one never to be mentioned who was previously up there in some role. Be gone Swag and the Pune 4, 14 years ago Blackburn Rovers was a pleasure and now it is a millstone that we supporters can’t drop.
imy9
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Owen  Well no one can say he isn’t qualified! On paper this looks an excellent appointment. This is from 11 years ago: Owen specialises in football-specific conditioning and injury prevention techniques. He has attained a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and is recognised as a leading researcher in the area of 'Football Science'. The Welshman, who began his football career as a player with Wrexham, also holds the UEFA Professional Coaching Diploma and, as well as working at Rangers, has held a role with the Football Association of Wales. Owen also hopes to be one of the first and youngest people in Europe to obtain both the UEFA Pro Licence and PhD in 'Football Science' and is currently working with Lyon University in France. You may wish to see his entire CV, he is only 43 but has had some career so far.

Looks at his entire career and working for teams in USA, Benfica, Celtic, Rangers and Hibs. Plus he has been Technical Advisor at Seattle Sounders FC and Lech Poznań before. We are getting someone with experience and decent enough CV. I have posted his CV from LinkedIn At Times, I wonder who some fans think we were going to appoint in this role. Edited June 1, 2024 by chaddyrovers
B16Rover
Signed Aiden McGeady and Adam LeFondre in back to back seasons. We will be putting Fleck in the academy if this is the yard stick
martonrover
I think there's a bit of confusion surrounding this appointment. Adam's brief as Head of Technical is to click on "submit".
robbojohnno
Very very underwhelming. Last job as Lee Johnson's assistant at Hibs and not been able to find a new job for almost 12 months. Also doesn't seem to last very long in a job in recent years. Cheap and a yes man for Steve as he clings on for as long as he can IMO.

Hopefully with Scottish recruitment rules being more relaxed than us re: European players, they might have some good ideas between them. Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 1, 2024 Moderation Lead Share Posted June 1, 2024 Technical what? If it helps us win football matches, sound. Otherwise, what are we up to?

Mattyblue
Aren’t Director of Football, Sporting Director and Technical Director all the same thing?
roversfan99
Impossible to get excited about such an appointment. His career path seems quite random, but whether hes up to the job or not, he will almost certainly at some stage find his job to be made untenable by the owners. More fool anyone for not realising 14 years in.
Mattyblue
He’ll be getting a decent wedge in a nice environment. Getting folk to take jobs is never going to be an issue - if they are any good (or if they even get chance to show their skills) is another issue. chaddyrovers
why would anyone get exciting over a technical director type appointment anyway?

I assume technical means looking after the academy, mostly. The academy is precious to us, so it needs due care and attention, certainly. Broughton's role was to look after both the academy and recruitment. Rovers are going down the route of splitting that out into two separate roles from what Nixon first reported. Mattyblue
Hmmm, if you say so FB, but I’m sure I’ve seen SD and DoF used interchangeably.
