I was there…the Keith Fear game. Murdered ‘em 1st half, 3-0 up, Fear missed a penalty, almost gave it away at the death. Faz talks about it on here 👍

Ianrally
I was there too. Great win but hated to see Sir Keith in a Burnleh dish cloth!
tomphil
Their ave gate that season was 10.691 if that helps, this was the biggest and the lowest was around 4,700. Must have been a very large influx of visiting fans just like most of these games home and away back in the day i assume.
SIMON GARNERS 194
Burnley fans swear they had 27,426 home fans on that day.

That's what I want to know, I once saw an article on the match saying Rovers had an estimated 12-17k that day. We pretty much took over Turf Moor that day

I was with a crowd of friends in the Bee Hole End after the Longside was closed to Rovers fans because it was full. That was well before kick off. There were lots of Rovers fans around the ground evidenced by the celebrations after each goal. It was easy then because there was no ticket requirement, pretty much every turnstile was cash.

I thought it was 2-3 million standard these days. I suppose a year in the prem gets a lot of the fairweather fans in.
Doogs
I went to that match. Great game. Largest Rovers following I have ever seen. Longside closed before kick off. Many Rovers fans went round to the Bee Hole end..Approx 10000 Rovers fans that day..

Telephone Masturbator
Before my time but I was at Ewood when they got on the Darwen End roof and started smashing it up. I wonder how many are now suffering with or have died through Mesothelioma because of this. tomphil
All this dismantled the Darwen End is another monumental six digited myth it was literally TWO of them clambered on top and pulled off an asbestos sheet.
