ACD looked a good signing in theory but hasnt come off. One real dud in Toth. Much better than Broughton who only managed one excellent signing in Szmodics who was allegedly on our radar previously anyway. String of duds including Wahlsted, 3 strikers who didnt score a single goal for the Club (Hirst, Ennis, Telalovic) Sigurdsson paid off and O Riordan. This January the recruitment has gone back to being dire again. You have to assume the guy who made the difference waa Park. 1 Quote

Both he and what has followed have been massively hindered by the owners and the pathetic budget but still within that. You have missed Tronstad who Broughton signed who you coincedentally are the only one who doesnt rate him. Brittain and Hyam have also been good signings and are key players. Hill was a good loan signing. On the flip side, Gueye cant surely be considered good value. He may be seen as that in the future and is getting better but he has 6 league goals. Same with Ohashi. If ACD was a good signing in theory then so was say Moran, but in reality hes been shit. Cantwell has been missed from the above, hes been rubbish. McFadzean played one league minute. Weimann has been a useful pick up, Batth and Beck have been good. The rest have ranged from ok to shocking. 3 Quote

We paid very good money for Hyam and Brittain. For me Hyam has been generally really poor and has a poor character. Brittain was generally awful until this season when he's finally started showing us the player we thought we were signing. I dont think either have been particular successes for the money paid. Tronstad fair enough, I dont particularly rate him but I know most do. I also forgot Cantwell from last summer who's been really poor imo. I really dont know what more you expect from Ohashi and Gueye for £250k and £1m though. Both turned out decent value imo. 1 Quote

Gueye and Brittain cost the same amount. If one of the two has shown more value and I appreciate that one has been here for longer, then as it stands, it isnt Gueye. 1 Quote

Salgados Hair Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Did I really just hear him say he was hoping to get Rovers into the Champions League? Good luck with that one Rudy. Quote

MarkBRFC Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Rudy's eyes lit up at the budget question and getting in another chance to tell everyone we don't get transfer fees all up front. Also telling us how grateful we should be to the owners again. When was the above recorded? Feel like it was before the one further up. Quote

Can’t stand the man, so haven’t watched any of the videos. Anyone that tells us we should be grateful for Venky’s is either thick as pig shit or is completely aware and taking the piss out of us (as well as self preservation). Grateful?! How can I be grateful for them destroying what I love?! I wish that snowball had been a brick. 4 Quote
Groundhog Posted Wednesday at 15:05 Posted Wednesday at 15:05 (edited) Wasn't expecting this - really going for it on the propaganda front Love that straight in at around 6.50mins - she points out Rovers don't give food to the press, just hot drinks - Preston, Burnley and even League Two Doncaster all treat people better with hot food etc. It's the stuff like that raises awareness. 20mins in and this is toxic as hell. So many slight digs at everyone, JE, the press. Unprofessional. Did I hear this right around 25mins: "I think the fans should try and understand not with emotion but with pragmatism, the reason why we can have a match on a Saturday is because they are there in the background putting the money in." JHRover Posted Wednesday at 15:16 Posted Wednesday at 15:16 Shortfall alert - we are now at £20-25 million a year that Venkys are pumping in 'just to keep the club afloat' It's going up by millions every time they give an interview. Will be £30 million the next time they speak. Must do better Rudy. 9 Quote

Groundhog Posted Wednesday at 15:59 Posted Wednesday at 15:59 (edited) He doesn't give a fuck about the fans - never credits the fanbase at once, not even as a throwaway remark to placate listeners. When the presenter pressed him on the fact the Venky's have took a Premier League team down he interrupted with "what is down" and proceeds to state that being in and around the playoffs is a positive. He's incredibly obtuse and fronts up too quickly. Very, very uncomfortable watch. Edited Wednesday at 16:00 by Groundhog 7 Quote

Tomphil2 Posted Wednesday at 16:31 Posted Wednesday at 16:31 He's an arrogant entitled tosser that much has been clear a while, Rudy Gestede is here for Rudy Gestede nothing more. They look at fans as irrelevant just turn up pay your money and applaud politely at all times and swallow what you're given whilst we play real life footy manager and fill our pockets. The line about we are going to spend to go up and then spend to win the Prem FFS !!!! Who the hell do they think they are talking to. 5 Quote
KentExile Posted Wednesday at 16:39 Posted Wednesday at 16:39 (edited) How many from the academy will be in the 25 man squad next season? 7 or 8 apparently, which includes 2 that have played in the past couple of weeks (Tyjon & Montgomery) So that would imply that the 7 or 8 includes only those who are currently part of the academy (ie not including Travis, Carter, Buckley, JRC, Wharton) Also 1 in each position, so by a process of deduction, the following players will be in the first team squad next season unless we are also counting Leonard, Garrett etc as "academy players"?) GK - Michalski CB - Atcheson or Litherland LB - Batty or Powell RB - Duru CM - Montgomery or Dunn W - Gilsenan maybe? S - Tyjon Edited Thursday at 05:08 by KentExile Quote
