Broughton was sincere in wanting to get us premier league but pleaded for time when he first came in. Rudy has just said that there was no intention to push for promotion when we were sat in 5th. I thought pro athletes were meant to have a competitive and winning mentality?? 

 

You can debate Broughtons ability if you want but I never once doubted his sincerity to implement a Brighton/ Brentford model and get us promotion. Imo he was firmly on our side but had his hands tied behind his back. Again if you want to question his ability that's fine by me, but not his intentions. 

Rudy on the other hand has just done an hour long podcast where he essentially said "Promotion? Lol fuck off. Why don't you morons be grateful that we even put a team out on a Saturday?" 

To be fair to Rudy, he only said what Venkys have been doing for 15 years previous , promotion ? Fuck Off!

Yep, Gregg carried the can for the two January fiascos and when he'd watched them sell Wharton from under him and JDT and it was obvious the money was going elsewhere, together with JDT's departure, it was the end of his project and he knew it. 

Personally I don't believe for one second that the 'admin errors' they claim were responsible for the January fiascos were anything of the sort and nothing to do with Gregg or other staff down there, but of course as usual when the shit hit the fan they wheeled him out and he had to say something remotely professional to explain what had gone on and took responsibility for it as a senior staff member. 

Unfortunately some of the more gullible of our fanbase they conflated him publicly accepting responsibility for the fiasco as being the same as him being the issue/problem that caused the fiasco. I'd suggest two very different things. One being the head of department and public speaker doing the professional thing and taking the ultimate flak for the failings of others, the other being in my view other shadowy characters and middlemen doing their level best to scupper deals as part of a money saving and power play strategy.

Personally I would like to thank the tea boy for fully confirming what I have been saying for years. This club has absolutely no intention of ever getting promoted back to the premier league.

As for comparing the tea boy to the egg, just don't. Broughton was a professional and had an actual plan for how and what he wanted to achieve. He openly talked about making us a sustainable premier league outfit. Was he good enough to have achieved that? We'll never know as he was undermined and sabotaged at every opportunity.

The tea boy is more in the kean mould. An absolute utter cunt that's way out of his depth because he's willing to be a piece of shit errands boy for his pathetic paymasters.

I hope they keep wheeling him out to do interviews because he's so completely thick that he just keeps giving us more and more ammunition.

One more angle we can work on is why are they sending the tea boy out to do interviews when Suhail is the only person there with any power. We don't care what this little imp has to say, we want Suhail to answer the questions and if not him then venkys themselves.

Glad people are finally waking up to Broughton's competence. Look at his career elsewhere at Bodo/Chicago, and his record here, he knows how to run football operations. 

Between him and JDT I have no doubt we could have made the Premier league if Waggott/Suhail/Venkys had not interfered to ruin our chances every chance they got.

With them at the helm I was finally excited to watch us play and believed in the wider plan for the club. Loved JDT, and he explicitly did not blame Gregg. Gregg also communicated consistently unlike Rudy et al.

For all of the mistakes that happened on his watch (and I suspect he was being deliberately undermined by Suhail etc), it's clear Broughton is infinitely more competent than Gestede. He was Head of Academy at Bodo/Glimt - and was part of the reason they've been punching above their weight for the last 5/6 years.

When he was here, he's probably been the most visible and transparent communicator the club has had in Venky's time. He convinced JDT to join, understood the need to tie players down to protect their value and was part of implementing a playing philosophy that would support young players into the first team. He also fronted up when mistakes were made - even when I think he was sold down the river by the club (McGuire).

If we had properly funded and supported Broughton and JDT, I've no doubt that we would be in the play off picture regularly and eventually make the step up.

Gestede is just thankful he has a job at this level. He'll continue to pay lip service to his employers because he knows like Steve Kean that once this party is over, no club at any proper level will touch him. I guarantee in 10 years time he'll be running some no mark football academy in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia or Brunei.

I did hear that, but was a bit worried about posting anything, after a cock up I posted earlier this week.

Its great that he is, as I think he is a real gem of a contributor to the fight back that we are seeing with you and the coalition.

I E Mailed him the anonymous booklet printed a few years ago, as some of the material he has quoted was also in there. No one still seems to know, who authored that. It is a quality publication and it has crossed my mind, that Rory could be the author, but apparently not.

I didn't think Broughton was sincere in the slightest. He knew exactly what the score was from day one - sell everything that moved - BUT he was a Grade A bullshitter and somehow managed to wrap a pink bow on a great big steaming turd by actually managing to convince some  people that this strategy was conducive with becoming "a sustainable Premier League Club".

Gestede isn't even attempting to put the pink bow on or make the process sound half way palatable and has more or less admitted we're not interested in things that are the be all and end all at most Clubs like trying to make the play offs or be successful.

Exciting times. Do we think we're the only Professional Club in the League whose aim is not to succeed on the pitch?

It is difficult to imagine something like this happening ANYWHERE else. It seems pretty obvious the play off attempt was deliberately sabotaged by bringing in players who generally weren't match fit and then refusing to pacify Eustace or allay any of his his concerns. Compounded by then bringing in a new Head Coach with a completely different approach and style of play.

BUT - to then publicly more or less admit as such simply beggars belief. They really are taking people's loyalty for granted.
