I heard the first couple of minutes of one of the clips and there was a total acceptance from him that any Coach who does well for us will be off to "a bigger project".

Not "We'll make sure we hang onto him" etc.

He was a great appointment seemingly purely on the back of scoring a few second division goals a decade ago. The bloke had never had a single off the pitch job prior to this one.

Was it? I don't think there's much in it to be completely honest. Szmodics is leagues better than anyone who has come in under Gestede, with the exception on maybe Beck, but he's not our player.

Recruitment wasnt "a lot better" by any means. RevidgeBlue just despised Broughton.

Gestede's recruitment of Ohashi and Gueye were better Broughton's recruitment of Ennis, Telalovic and Hirst(for me, that was down to JDT) 

Both can't sign a good reliable keeper 

Both had hits with defenders and midfielders signings

Good point Matty but then not summer signing worked out like Cantwell, Toth, ACD. Others did. Wasn't Gestede behind Gueye move and Owen behind Ohashi move? That's was the rumour

Gestede has not had a big budget but recruitment has been poor this season even factoring that in. Hes a novice who should not be overseeing this.

Im sure next season will be fun. We have the same owners so another uncompetitive budget, another summer of Gestede overseeing it, we have Ismael trying to get the most out of it, and we have our best 3 players going into the final year of their contracts and seemingly a total block on new ones being handed out.
