A huge day in the history of our beloved club.

Boy oh boy, have our fans been put through the ringer these past 14 years since the Walker family couldn't wait to get shut of us.

The rest is history, of which every Rovers fan knows.

Is anyone in the group knowledgeable enough regarding this impending Indian court case in August, and what the Implications would be for Blackburn Rovers regardless if Venkys won or lost the case?

Thoughts?

Just been chatting to a friend from Bangalore and he pointed out that Thursday 15th and Monday 19th of August are public holidays in India. He reckons nothing much will get done in courts on the Friday in between. So Tuesday 20th will be a big 'catch up' day.

Also, lawyers in Delhi went on strike yesterday with more action threatened - just to add to the backlog.

We'll sell Szmodics either soon before or soon after that date. Even if that means taking £6 million we'll get whatever we can and this will be enough to keep things going until the end of the year or beyond with the Raya money with it

They'll then get another court date months down the line and we'll be having the same discussion in November, and they'll have to find another one for the January sales.

They've been lucky with these players to sell. That won't last forever. Then it will get interesting.

I am pretty confident that the hearing will take place that day still and they will be stopped from funding.

Assuming it is adjourned again, they still won't be able to add their usual funding statement, to the accounts, so it is effectively game over.

And BRFCS will fund a free to attend Rovers fan celebration at the Ewood Working Mens club.

If the hearing goes ahead on the day I fully expect the directorate of enforcement to prove their case with the result all overseas funding is banned.

Is that what you expect, or want ?

That's exactly what I think will happen.

ED know they have been stretching the truth already and that's exactly why it has come to this. The bond should almost certainly be forfeited and the permanent ban put in place.

It's what I expect. What I want is a club where there is trust between the fan base and those running and owning the club.

It will come and go and nothing will happen there'll be the usual silence Waggot will say all is well then come Sept we'll take the first real bid on Szmodics and the window will shut.

Then silence again.

My moneys on another adjournment.

Sounds like Waggot has convinced them we can ‘wash our own face’ by flogging more players before heading into league one with a team of u18s.

So why would they push to get it heard if they are given a chance to kick it to the long grass?

hope the judge has a hangover from hell, his arthritis is bothering him and when the mention of venkys is uttered he flies into a rage and finds them all guilty of contempt of court, fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, corporate theft and anything else he fancies

Not sure the V's have any say in the matter as they are the defendants in the case. It's the directorate of enforcement that is pursuing the case.

That’s not right.

The court cases are a consequence of the DoE case but aren’t part of it.

The Venky’s have instigated the proceedings requesting to be allowed to send monies whilst the DoE investigation continues.

The Department of Economic Affairs are the respondents and are arguing the Vs shouldn’t be allowed to.

I seem to remember the wording in the previous adjournment was “final hearing” on 20th August. No idea what the consequences are of that being adjourned again, but why would that be the wording if there wasn’t a hard stop?

FWIW, I hope the “hard stop” is the Venky joyride hitting a proverbial oak tree at 90mph. I think we get bought out of administration pretty quickly (although “out of the frying pan into the fire” comes to mind) but it’s a long road back.

I'm more than willing to risk getting burned.
