Football has come up with a new way to surprise me after Coventry sacked Mark Robins today. He dragged that club up by the bootlaces and gave the club some identity and pride back despite multiple obstacles he had to overcome. He won't be out of work for long.

I wonder if Eustace will be on their wanted list?

Hopefully Eustace is on their wanted list, as the sooner he goes the better for me.

I have never taken to the guy.

I'm not sure why he would be?

Stupid, stupid decision by Coventry. First off when you look at what he has done over seven years - he's had them performing really well, and transformed the club's position,  with a couple of very near misses on big success.

Even looking in the short term, recently they have beaten Boro and Luton, two decent sides, so the signs of recovery this year were there. It's an appalling decision.

Ex Coventry player. Coventry are in an early relegation fight and he has a good track record of keeping clubs up. And he will be cheap.

I dunno. If Eustace was a free agent I could see someone like a Coventry looking at him, I don't think they would want him enough to pay compensation thought even if he would be fairly cheap.

I'm not aware of too many out of work managers out there so Coventry may well have to pay compensation for most of their targets. As you say Eustace would be cheap even if he has a release clause in his contract.

Coventry fans are fuming and rightly so, robins made them relevant again. And they aren’t even that far away in the league.

as much as I was happy with eustace and have defended him there still seems to be an issue with making us an attacking side , there is red flags for sure , he hasn’t stamped any identity in this side and any that he had- hard to beat- is currently crumbling

id be happy with robins here

Pep Guardiola could offer to walk to Brockhall and work for free and this regime would either turn him away or make the job impossible.

Doesn't matter who sits in the dugout or how good they are. A regime with no ambition or interest will demolish and suck the life out of whatever good he gets going.

Frank Lampard is odds on to be the next Coventry City manager. Apparently he and the current owner are friends from what I have heard.

frank is like the bootlicker who is present in every company and works, always gets a good job/or promotion despite being a completely useless ****🙂

Absolutely right SG. He just has the feel of a colourless, banal guy when being a pundit or a manager. Living in Coventry, I know the fans are livid with this decision. Robins has guided them through some atrocious times and they love him for that.

If Frank does get the job, he'll not get long before the fans will want him out.

Here's hoping 🤞

Note, JE is backed in at 10/1 and 5th favourite with Skybet.
