If this is anywhere near accurate, Derby fans will be terrified

Turns out it’s likely us that need to be worried

Every time I think a team is going to go on a little run or get a result they don’t. Bristol City lost to Swansea today. A few earlier additions and we could have been solidly in 5th with a nice gap. I still have hope but we need to keep Eustace and get Tronstad back ASAP.

Eustace as good as gone.

We've been incredible lucky with how the results have gone for us the last few weeks. If only we'd won a couple of extra games over the last 2 months and we'd be looked nailed on for the playoffs

I don't think we've been any luckier than any of the others,I think it's just a poor standard to be honest.

That last kick (how many late goals do those pricks score?) Cov winner has taken away from another good night set of results.

Lots of late goals is generally a sign of fitness and belief. IIRC that happened with us when Sparky took over compared to Souness.

I wouldn't say we were unfit under JE, but there is still a dearth of late goals.

Wondering how many points will be needed to finish 6th this season and how many more wins we would need.

At the current rate it will be only 68 (67.56) based on what WBA have after 32 matches. That would be quite low based on previous seasons going back a fair few years, it tends to be mid-70s.

But there is a long way to go just yet and I suppose anything can happen.

Targeting matches against Plymouth, Derby, Luton, they really need to be 3 points against the cannon fodder of this season (never that simple).

I think that you are right. Rovers are averaging 1.5 points per game. Carrying that on will have Rovers ending on 69 points. The same as JDT's 7th place finish.

On paper Rovers have a decent run in. Games against 6 of the current bottom 8. Have already played 1st and 3rd twice. Play 2nd the last day of the season when they are hopefully in party mode. Plus Sheff Wed, Boro, and Norwich at home.

I will caveat this with the fact that this is Blackburn Rovers who are managerless, run by fools, and don't score many goals.

My Boro fan mate is feeling incredibly pessimistic. Said the new signings didn't look very good. He's generally quite optimistic (aside from chances of success in the playoffs given how poor their record is there) and isn't the type to write people off so just the fact that morale is so low for him is a good sign and hopefully indicative of the mood around the club right now. With the amount of sides bunching up into this playoff race, the more teams underperforming the better, especially the more potent ones on paper.

Sheffield Wednesday surprising me a tad. Coventry have really closed the gap. Watford falling away.

West Brom have not impressed all year, but have been hard to beat. Boro up and down.

Good battle at the top of the league amongst those four. Leeds looking dominant the last few weeks.

Rovers currently the best of the rest. I've said all year we are better than we think and the standard is low. With players returning and six new signings maybe we can get on a roll.

No idea what Luton are playing at. I guess losing has become a habit.
